  1. counterflow lanes!! thats what we need!!

Date: 2/10/2006 3:41:06 AM Author:ahaugen_05 think of it, a 4 to 9 lane freeway where you can designate which lanes cary traffic based on demand. You mean like the Aston Expressway (A38(M)) in Birmingham, England: Good idea, but as already mentioned, I doubt that it would technically be possible.
  2. The great city flop

Date: 2/3/2006 6:17:05 PM Author:Astroman 2,Los Angeles highway system give you one word bad city planning,my reason why i don't like Los Angeles highway system it took me about 90 min from marina del ray to 20 century fox studios. Not many people may know this, but London was going to have an LA-style motorway network called the Ringways. It would have involved not one, but 4 M25's, plus a huge amount of arterial roads. More information can be found here .
  3. BUS TRANSIT WAY

Leeds has a guided busway system, and there are plans to build one in Cambridgeshire.
  4. Joeynymets highway signs requests

Hi, Would it be possible if a few more UK motorway signs were made? Maybe something like this (UK End of motorway sign): Thanks in advance.
  5. A little tutorial on roundabouts

Date: 1/12/2006 1:32:29 AM Author: Raziaar Am I missing any possible roundabouts, here? Is there a download that I need to get those road and street roundabouts? I would really love to have some proper ones in my city! Also, how to I get the one-way roads to merge directly into the avenue carriageways as shown above?
  6. Please help me!

Please help me, I'm new and having a couple of problems with some of the downloads. I'm downloading a few items, mainly to help make my transportation systems better. I have downloaded European road markings, UK Motorway signs and the SimTropolis Station without any problems. However, I have tried downloading some other things, like some other Highway signs, railway stations and bus stops, but they don't work. They have no dependancies, so I would have thought that they should work. Have I missed something? Something I noticed is that the files that are working have had to be 'installed' after being unzipped, and the ones that aren't working, don't. Please help! Thanks in advance.
  7. Please help me!

Date: 1/28/2006 3:54:26 PM Author: Fred_Ginger Hi, DavidBrown, lets see if I can help as I'm like you in that I 'don't do windows'  When you go to unzip do you 'browse' for the location to put the file?  If not, then that is your first step.  When you do browse, you want to specify, (your name) documents, Sim City, Plug-ins.  If I were you at that point I would click the button that says new folder, then name the new folder something that will remind you of what you put in it.  Most people that put things on the STEX test there stuff but you never know - with separate folders for thing you can then find stuff that causes problems.  I wish I had done that when I first started downloading! If this doesn't help either click on my name and send me a PM or go to the Help squad.  Good luck! Thanks for all of the help, guys. Really appreciated! Fred's advice in the quote above seems to be working fine - I can now use everything that I'm downloading with ease. Plus it means that I don't have to pay for downloading WinZip, which is nice!
  8. Please help me!

Sorry about all the posts! For some reason, it was posting, but not appearing on my computer. Oh well! I don't understand you, sim1234, but that'll just be me! I'm not great on computers, you see, so it'll take some explaining! Here's an example, the Blue Tube Station. I have downloaded it, and the zipped file is in My documents. I have unzipped the file, but that doesn't do anything. There's no 'WinZip' thing that I can see. I notice that there's no install icon on the unzipped file - something which the files that do work all had. Is it meant to have one? When you post, make sure that you're not clicking several times on the post it button, because you had four of the same posts here. If you are not sure that it was posted correctly, then renew the page and have a look if it's there before posting it again. Thanks....and Welcome to Simtropolis! mrbisonm
  9. Please help me!

Thanks for that. I'm still downloading some files, with most of the files coming up with this message when I try to open it: Windows cannot open this file: File Name To open this file, Windows needs to know what programme created it. Windows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programmes on your computer. What do you want to do? - Use the web service to find the appropriate programme. - Select the programme from the list. quote> Should this be happening? If not, then what do I need to do to stop it? Again, thanks in advance for any help.
  10. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hi everyone! I'm David, and I live in Devon in the UK, although I used to live in Yorkshire. I recently got broadband and wanted to download some new stuff for SimCity, and this place seems to have everything and more! I think I'll be visiting this site a fair bit! I have already downloaded a couple of things from the site, although a few of them aren't working for some reason. I'm sure I'll find out a reason why somwhere on the site.
