  1. Any suggestions for sea ports?

There is an old lighthouse in the vanilla game now, in the map editor. You could always fix up your harbor with some assets, I can remember what they are called but they shouldn't be hard to find in the workshop.
  2. With the latest update, I think the crown has been passed. Quays, flood walls, and canals are now part of the vanilla game, along with neat little extras like the castle walls. Skylines may not have everything just yet, but it raises the bar on what a city builder should be.
  3. My laptop caught on fire just looking at that.
  4. Remember Sturgeon's law, 90% of everything is crap. The 10% that is good for this games is awesome. I just can't believe some of the fantastic mods that are already available.
  5. I just love the detail of the water system. In my city of Dosgatos, I noticed that sometimes the river runs dry and other times it floods into low areas. That is of course a behavior of real rivers.
  6. Thank you, Paradox.

Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, you saved a beloved genre! When I play Skylines, that old feeling of city building comes back better than ever! Thanks again. Thank you.
  7. It's great! It feels so good to play a recently released city builder that actually seems like an improvement in the genre. For a over a decade this genre was lost in the desert, offering one steaming pile of shinola after another. Hopefully those dark days are behind us for good and we look forward again to the future of city simulation.
  8. If I remember right, I just picked it up on my lunch break from Best Buy. I was much more into the Civ series then so Simcity wasn't a big deal to me. Now I feel the opposite, I hardly play Civ any more and generally don't keep up with new versions but I am following city building games closely.
  9. EA Shuts Down SimCity Developer Maxis

Yeah, and no Streets of SimCity2.
  10. I think I will wait for the 140 character version.
  11. Cities: Skyline is out to satisfy where SimCity couldn't

" Karoliina Korppoo says that the game's realistic water simulation does mean sadistic players could potentially find ways to flood their cities, "And will enjoy trying." Yes. Yes we will. Muhahahahahahahaha!
  12. SimCity Megacity Has Over 100 Million People Living In It

It's gridtastic. It is quite an accomplishment without copying or mods though.
  13. Cities: Skyline; A new City Simulator Announced By Paradox

When I played CIM2 I felt like CO already had half of a great city simulator built. I am glad to hear that they were convinced by the community to go ahead and build a proper city sim. I hope Skylines allows early access so we can start messing around with it soon.

Awesome. If CIM2 is any indication this should be a pretty good game.
