SimCity announcement on the way?

3 copies of SimCity Box are still on the shelf at the local Bellingham Wal-mart. It appears to keep selling. What a delight it would be if EA were to offer some measure of gratitude towards SimTrop for keeping SC4 so fresh and alive by having SimTrop co-announce a serious SC5?

We don't know what this new game will be but it's sounding less and less likely that it will be "SimCity 5." It may be a SC variant like (*sigh) SC:Societies or not SC-related at all. I just get the sense that it won't be SC 5 (or whatever you might choose to call it).

I'm resigning myself more than ever that SC4 is the last of its kind. I suppose I can live with that, given all of the excellent modding by the community, but a new version would have been nice.

Actually, I'd settle for a maintenance bug-fix with no other changes. Of course ripping out UDI and maybe the whole My Sims area would help a lot.

It will probably be Hivemind created by Will Wright and his new gamestudio "Stupid Game Club". I would not get my my hopes up for a Simcity 5 release. Just my 2 cents

EA terminated the NHL series on PC because of pirating. What's the hopes they make a game with mods that will live long?

No they don't make long lived games with mod tools any more, they make a game that lasts one year then they make it in a new form, and so it goes.

i agree with most of the comments here also not a fan of face book have never joined and probaly never will glad i found this site yep im a newcomer to the site but not simcity games some of my favorite games thank you will wright glad to meet all of you hope to contribute some buildings of my own once i figure it all out some of you have some very awsome mods jaw dropping good i came from simforum to here

Hahei: Did you at least ask if this game wouldn't fail the SimCity (or Maxis) community?

There is a rumour that EA are making a new Populous game. Maybe they have asked Maxis to make it since Bullfrog no longer exist. The clue they have given is: What would you do if you had the power to change the world?

This fits in with a 'God' game like Populous rather than SimCity. Just a thought

I just looked at the countdown page of the march 6 event, and there is 2 bios of speakers : a philantropist and a filmmaker. Doesn't look very Simcity to me, but who knows...
