Winthrop container port completed

Development has continued the port in Winthrop. Recently the container and cargo port have been completed. Port Authorities have plans to develop a bulk materials port for resources such as coal, oil, and iron ore. For now with the completion of the port, construction on the commercial warf and fishing docks has been scheduled to begin soon. Rail and expressway connections remain to be finished. WInthrop will need a large population to support the expanded port and industrial areas.

Ships await approval to dock at the newly finished port.

At the end of the man made peir cargo ships dock.

Here is the high capacity container docks where three ships can dock and containers can be transported by road or rail.

Three more container ships dock on the far side of the port.

The shipping channel is already full with ocean going super ships awaiting a free dock.

The completed port has numerous rail connections for the moving freight. The expressway remains to be compleated. Winthrop sold large numbers of bonds to complete this port. Officials are betting on becoming the freight transportion hub of this part of the region. Winthrop needs further expansion of residential and commercial areas to be able to repay bond debt without raising taxes or cutting services. With the port development taking four years, only sixteen years remain to increase cashflow to repay debt.
