Chapter 3| Update 17: Scapegoat

5 Hours Ago...earlier that morning

Uniden International Airport. The harbor of the sky for all of Follomer on the west coast. It's the oldest and most conggested airport in the country. Thousands use it daily. This morning was no different.

Clouds were overhead as the sun rose over the horizon at 6 o'clock in the morning, creating the dawn of the day. Commuters and travelers roamed the halls and plazas and lobby's of the airport, checking in, stuffing through security, making sure they had the right tickets and the right directions to their gates. Alot were business men and women flying overseas to Drace Island, others boarding a plane that would stop over in Virgin Shores before heading to the West Coast of America.
Many others were young people. School fieldtrips, young lovers wanting to meet up, family going to visit other family. All had no idea what was to come in a few minutes.
Near a group of people who were waiting near a security checkpoint, elevator doors opened, and five men dressed in suits and ties, walked out casually, hefting light machine guns and kevlar vests. They all made a arc line on one side of the group and stared.
The people slowly turned and saw the men, and all was still...
Before the men raised their weapons on the crowd of men and women and kids and soon after, the guns fired.
Crowd: Ahhhhhh!
Everyone in the group recoiled and dropped to the ground. Some managed to sprint through the metal detectors but just got hit in the back, falling frontwards onto the hard tiled floors. Those ahead of them heard the gunshots, and panic broke out.
Security tried to run, hide, unholster their sidearms in failed attempts at resistance. The five men just mowed everyone down, everything in sight. They made their way through security and into the concourse lobby. Shops were being deserted by screaming people, running away from danger. It seemed as time slowed down as everyone ran and stumbled. The men kept firing at everyone. People bleeding out tried to crawl away. Screaming continued.
Just after a few minutes, sirens and loudspeakers came on as the police were notified, and all nearby departments were dispatched. The men, seemingly calm ran to a maintenance accessway, and vanished from the concourse. Floor littered with bodies.

The men fired at the police officers as they threw themselves out of their cruisers. One man fired at a pair of petrol-barrels, exploding them aflame. The small explosion caught the nearby 737's right engine on fire, and began to burn. Then the men vanished again, out of the sight of the police.

They came out of the building and walked toward the back of one of the many trucks parked near the edge of the concourse. All the police cruisers nearby were unoccupied of police, most likely dead. The men as they approached the truck, saw the back open up to find another man in an airport maitenance suit hold out his hand to them.
???: Quickly, get in.
The men began to pile in one by one. The maitenance man turned to one of the other men and helped him on the truck.
???: You sent a big message with this attack .
The man got on and turned, out reaching his hand to the last man hefting an M249 SAW machingun. The man took it.
???: No...this is a message.
The first man then pulled out a pistol and pushed it to the second's chest, and pulled the trigger. He fell and dropped onto the hard concrete ground as the first man just stared on, and then closed the trucks doors as it drove off.
???: The Americans thought they could capture and turn us over to the Follomerians. But when they find that body, all of Follomer will cry for war.

As the truck left the concourse, more police arrived at the airport, only to catch glimpse of the 737's fuel tanks catch fire, and then erupt in a large crippled lump of burning metal.

The unknown attackers drove off, fleeing in an Airport Maintenance truck. Just minutes after, the body of deceased CIA Agent Ryan Keating would be found, and used as a scapegoat, in hopes to ignite the largest of fires in years between countries.
