Later That Day...

Captain Trellian: The reason why I wanted to talk to you is that Intelligence found something.

Tessa remained calm, knowing to not expect the best when it came to having "found something". It was probably some little hiccup over in the mountains, another camp, or a militant stealing a car.

Tessa: Uhuh, and what would that be?

Trellian had his arms crossed, looking straight ahead as they walked. He was just as stoic as she was.

Captain Trellian: A lead. A lead on possible militant financial supporters.

Tessa got her attention caught this time, but she kept walking. She almost tripped though, but caught herself.

Captain Trellian: It wasn't easy. The signs were very well hidden but analysts uncovered missing funds from local corporations. Too small to be easily detected but were withdrawn over several periods for the past several months. Couldn't find where the funds were heading to, or who is funneling them out, nothing solid, but as people say, we have a feeling in our gut.

Tessa: You're saying these murderers are being funded by our own corporations!?

Tessa felt an anger rising in her as her fists clenched. Follomerians funding to have Follomerians killed.

Captain Trellian: Technically yes. That's why we're sending a team in to investigate before any real action is taken.

Tessa stopped him there, her anger raging.

Tessa: Thats not enough!!

Tessa took a step forward, her ears clinging to her head, her eyes murderous. Trellian was taken aback by the you girl's ferociousness.

Tessa: Send security teams in! Search every corporate tower there is!

Trellian took a step forward and took hold of the girl's arms and held her.

Captain Trellian: Tessa! Tess! Calm down, we can't just barge into public places with fully armed and armored assault teams. We need to be precise about this. If we go in guns blazing, there could be an massacre twice as bad as Willow Place, and in the middle of a business day too.

Tessa stopped talking and tried to calm herself. She barely noticed she began to growl.

Captain Trellian: To be precise about our operations, we assure more saved lives then if we go in with gun barrels pointed down scared civilians eyes.

Tessa stared him down before letting out a long breath, and then unclenched her fists. A second later, she was on her way down the street again. Trellian had to jog to catch up to her, and then resumed his place by her side.

Captain Trellian: Tessa I know how emotional attached you are with this. That day at the mall... it must of been--

Tessa: DON'T SAY ANOTHER WORD!

Tessa's fists were clenched again and Trellian knew when to back off.

Captain Trellian: Yes, yes I'm sorry. But I want to just remind you of the dangers.

Tessa: If you're sending a team to investigate this lead, then I'm going with.

Captain Trellian: Now Tessa, please I don't want to put you in any--

Tessa: I am GOING, to be in that team Trellian. You may not have noticed, but I'm a NekoHuman, I don't live as long as you do, I've got a good twenty years left in me before I die. I'm fully capable of looking out for myself. I'm going to be on that team, alright?

Trellian didnt say anything as Tessa walked back toward the front entrance of the Chancellor Tower. He couldn't help but to smirk just a little bit.

Captain Trellian: Like Father like Daughter.
