Since it will probably take a while before any new updates will be made to my CJ, I decided to give you a small preview of the upcoming entries, since I've been working on a new and very large city. The next 5 or 6 entries will be about the capital city of the Kingdom of Slavonia: Kadan (remember: the Illyrian Empire has five constituent states 9.gif). But there is still a massive amount of work to be down and I also need to make adequate changes to the CJ itself (title, intro, etc), but these latter are minor issues.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics and perhaps you'll be able to guess what reallife city I used for inspiration.......3.gif(I'll give you one hint: it contains the largest historic castle in the world).

Cool! As always nice use of rivers and elevation. And hmmm what city... youve got me stumped... I may just do a google search.

My guess is Prague, in the Czech Republic... I can't quite spot which of the central river islands your above one represents unless you give me a north south for it, but that's my guess...?  And yes, that's a BIG city... that's a lot of work.

@ Sky Guy: Thanks! Great to have you back again.

@ Jamonbread: Don't worry, someone already guessed right .

@ Schulmanator: merci! Really appreciate your input!

@ CSGdesign: and your guess was correct . The island represents the "Kampa" island (Charles' Bridge runs across it). Yeah, it's really big and especially the layout of certain areas is, well mmh, rather complex...

No kidding its crazy complex! Haha well CSG saved me some time then! So are you just using Prague as a reference or pretty much recreating it?

@ Jamonbread: Haha! Well yes, I am using it as a reference. I'll try to recreate it as much as possible using bats that are available, but there are only very few prague buildings for sc4 and the layout of prague's city center is impossible to recreate accurately, so..... we'll see how it turns out. Thanx!

@ Simbourgeois: thanks very much! Very nice to see you back again.

wow this city looks amazing. Ive read through this thread with great interest and am staggered by the attention to detail shown in this city. You've used a computer game to create a work of art :)

Im quite new to sim city and im wondering how you manage to create flat bridges like in the 4th screenshot on page 4

https://www.simtropolis.com/cityjournals/index.cfm?p=view&id=528&page=4

Any tips on how you did this?

Wow, thanks for your interest in my CJ. Great having new people around.

Making the bridges is really easy, you need this mod: http://kurier.simcityplaza.de/details.php?file=296 (should be on the stex as well, but can't find it), that gets rid of the maxis slopes.
