December 09 Update at 700k! - Christmas + New Year

Rooleyson December 09 Update: Report from the Rooleyson City Hall

Rooleyson has now just reached a population of just over 700 000. Progress since the last update has slowed much down due to events within the city and decrease in movement within people around the nation. They mayor hopes to increase development over the next month to reach a population of 1 000 000 in time for the January '10 update, which will be the first of the new year. New development within the past month has been much focused around the eastern suburbs and Kathine Hill. The eastern suburbs adds a whole lot of housing, shops and offices to the city, as well as many recreational areas. Development has now also started on the southern suburbs, mainly around the southern inner city suburbs. The Rooleyson City Library has been built and opened as well as the Greenwood Anglican Church. A new tunnel that connects the city to the outskirts has also been built.

Christmas in Rooleyson! & The City of Blinding Lights
It's Christmas time in Rooleyson! The whole city has been decorated with Christmas lights and decoration on all the streets, sending the spirit high throughout the area. Many houses and businesses have also put up some great Christmas light displays on their buildings as well. The big Christmas Tree has also been put up outside the city hall in the front courtyard. There are also rumours that Santa is somewhere around town, but no one has found him yet. Although the Christmas season is full of spirit at the moment in Rooleyson, there have been many critics of other religions slamming the extremely high amount of Christmas decorations and lights in every single street in Rooleyson. With this, the council has been accused of encouraging a mono-culture style of living in Rooleyson, but they are defending themselves, apologising for the inconvenience of over-decorating the town.
Also, if you thought the last entry in the journal with the mega night spectacular was amazing, just wait til you see Rooleyson at night now. The big problem of street and car lights not working throughout the city which has been causing trouble to the city for the past few months has now been fixed, with the city now putting on a very spectacular and truly amazing out of this world night display.

New Special Buildings
There have several new buildings that have been built over the past few month, but some of these new ones are "special" buildings, of which Rooleyson benefits from. Some of these are new leisure areas which further add to the high living lifestyle, and some are new big companies which help increase the city's production in certain resources. These companies have made the choice to come to this city for it's good reputation and it's great production in resources. High-tech industry is currently the most produced in the city.

West Suburbs Bypass Tunnel
The West Suburbs Bypass Tunnel was built after a mini financial business crisis in the CBD. Several businesses had problems with passenger services in the area, causing them to lose money and some becoming bankrupt. It came up very quickly, putting a whole lot of tension and stress on the city council. The mayor was quick to plan and develop a tunnel which would link the outskirts of the city to the CBD, which helps in both freight and passenger services. Since the completion and opening of the tunnel, it has been business as usual in the CBD. It also provides good service to the high-tech industry in the inner city suburbs.

Future for 2010
The future of Rooleyson is looking nice and bright at the moment, with development already starting on the southern inner city suburbs. Currently, as previously stated, development is still slow but the mayor has promised to increase the development for the new year. The development of Kathine Hill is also still in progress, but is getting closer to finishing, and should be finished and written about hopefully just after Christmas. Unfortunately, it means that things will be a little quieter in The Rooleyson Journal, but family and friends come first before the journal.

On behalf of the Rooleyson City Council and the city of Rooleyson, we wish all of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2010! Stay in tune to The Rooleyson Journal for more on Kathine Hill, and the southern suburbs in the new year, in the new decade, 2010.
