Assessment underway...
Like "phew!"...
It seems that the energy burst in Laughterdale (dubbed "The Laughterdaelian Signal" by the Udananites) did not have any harmful effects. However, it did serve a tactical purpose...
According to the research conducted by the investigative journalists and The Businesspeople's scientists, The Laughterdaelian Signal has in fact been... a spy beam...
By using space-grade transmitters and antennas, The Smileyfaces have been able to generate a powerful radio frequency with the capacity of gathering data. The information that has been collected this way, was then used to perform comprehensive analysis of each tribe and identify potential for cooperation with each of them.
Each tribe has been assigned a "positivity grade" which determines how compatible a given tribe's agenda is to that of The Smileyfaces'. Of course, from now own this grade will be considered the guiding principle for The Smileyfaces' future relations with other Udananites. The Tribal Council of The Smileyfaces have received the following reports, presenting the findings of the assessment:
As you can see, The Smileyfaces' signal, have brought in some interesting data that the tribe have successfully used to evaluate and get to know the other tribes!
But what The Smileyfaces did not know, however, was that The Businesspeople have managed to intercept and decode a part of The Laughterdaelian Signal... This way, they have managed to hijack a part of it and, likewise, gather some business intelligence on other tribes!
In The Businesspeople's case, however, economical factors have been assessed rather than positivity. Two elements have been evaluated. The "financial rating" (the monthly balance of the city budget) and the "business rating" (an extent to which a tribe's principles match those of The Businesspeople):
The Slackers have picked up The Laughterdaelian Signal too but, unfortunately, they were too lazy and drunk to do anything about it...
Likewise, The Activators have taken notice of the signal passing over their home city...
...but were too busy establishing their new town, west of Buildmoar. Just as was ordered by The Reverred Spirits of the S'tropoli Dimension. Naturally it had to be the priority.
Thank you for your visit and see you next time!
A little announcement before I focus on the comments! I have taken a decision to convert my "Saving Magnasanti" story (which can be found in the SC3000 section) into a new CJ in this 'ere section.
For some reason I have neglected that topic. For shame... Because I still think it is an interesting concept which perhaps deserves a little more visibility. In any case, if you are interested in the quest of making the biggest and baddest SC3000 city ever built a livable place again, stay tuned for the "transfer". I will be moving all the "Saving Magnasanti" contents to the CJ section in the near future and then resume from where I left.
Comment replies:
@Dreamcitybuilder - The nature of the signal is clear at last.
Yes, the Northern tribes are not as flashy as others but this is exactly why they make good testing beds for new concepts and urban planning!
@whiteshark365 - Thank you!
@TogaMasterJohn - Thank you for your comment TogaMaster! It was Terring who inspired me to try out the concentric city design, it works great and looks really cool!
@ulisse - Thanks!
