Entry 01 - A Look at the Region

Hello Everyone!  The time has come for me to share the region I have been working on for the past year, Mountain North. This is a region I started from a flat standard region map with varied sized city tiles throughout. I terraformed the region by lifting city tiles to varied heights then working my way down to the bays, raising and carving the terrain. The second phase of work included the creation of the lakes and rivers that would flow through the region. A few make their way to Sun Bay to the Mountain's South West.  To the East the City of River's End has started to grow.

Most entries will be a look into specific towns and areas of the region(city tiles). There are enough areas that have developed to start up this CJ and hopefully enough time to keep from catching up to the developing areas of the region. All pictures are pictures taken with the in game camera and the only change was cropping out the game menu. I have not had the time to learn the LOT editor and that should tell you I also have no BAT skills. All you will see was downloaded from one of the many websites out there and plopped into the game or grown in. If something looks different they are most likely MMPs. In this region I used a large handful of MMPs but tried to keep to a specific set of ones I picked out for nature that will hopefully keep the nature fluid throughout the region. I'm very sorry but Please do not ask where I got something, most likely I have forgotten or they are no longer available out there throughout the web. I will gladly help anyone in the forum sections of the site(as I'm sure some pics will end up there. Thank You.

 - In this first entry we will take a look at the region itself. Starting with a view of the Full Region at it's current point of growth. About 155,000sims.

The next set of pictures are of the region as a bit of a timeline.

If you'd like to take a closer look we'll be starting our Tour in the next entry with The Lion's Woods.

Hope to see you there.

Very Nice --

Very interesting -- the way you approached the assembly of the overall map.  Much better approach than mine.  I used to deal with topographical maps and aerial photos in another life -- I could study these for hours.  :thumb:

Cool stuff. Rarely get to see a CJ from the regional perspective and it's interesting to see the changes of the region over time. I like how I can actually make out a lot of interesting little details here and there even from that high up. Such as all those waterfalls, the mmp work along the bank of river on the edge of the map and even a lattice tower or two of mine :thumb: Which reminds me, I'm long over due to released some more. Also that is quite the massive highway network there!

If this is a first for you , I must say you are off to a good start . Hand terraforming a region can be quite challenging , it is for me anyway . You did a heck of a job .:thumb:

Go on Phil , I still , haven't gained the courage to attempt to do a CJ . Maybe I'll have to put it on my bucket list .
