Welcome back to Amesbury, folks! And today's gonna be a big day as we're going to take a small drive in the CBD of our pretty little town, or is it little anymore? Its growth is slowing down, sure but surprisingly, the greater area is still showing massive residential demand. Here's to our favourite boomtown in the country - 20% in what, five years?

Last entry, we got lost in the countryside. How about we go back into town today?

It's just a little drive on the M2. There's quite a bit of traffic today, though nothing as bad as rush hour, obviously. There's more and more people coming from outside the city, after all : it's been estimated there are twice as many people working in town during the day as there are residents in Amesbury itself.

Here's the Wood Heights neighbourhood, and it's just as quiet as usual, though a bit more built-up in the last few years.

In fact, remember the old logging camps south of town? It's very obvious they simply became swallowed in urban development and were therefore relocated. In their stead, more suburbia! To be fair, it's coming along slowly.

It could be worse. The residential zoning north of Maple Heights remains desperately empty...but there are no new industrial or corporate developments going on. This may change very soon, though!

To the East of town, Gatsby Main Street serves as a new north-south thoroughfare through the hillside residential zone.

In the corner of the Mall, people enjoy a sunny day at the foot of a statue commemorating the settling of Cathnoqury and one of its founding figures : Anoreth the Great, Jarl of Falkreach, who led one of the first immigration waves in the Fourth Era.

The Amesbury Pavillon is a building in the CBD, on the side of the University Campus. It usually hosts art expositions. Today : flowers and the frills.

Do you remember these little streets a few entries ago - the quiet village road in the centre of town? Well this is what Northsides has become : a bustling, high-density commercial and residential district.

The downtown area is made up of dense but low-rise commercial and office buildings.

As we keep driving across town we pass by the Red Courthouse, which handles most of Amery County's judiciary system.

Just two blocks east, a prominent company has set up secondary headquarters! As annoying as it gets, ("why can't you just lift your eyes off this phone, Major? We're in a council meeting, might you toggle your Chirper notifications off!") the little blue bird has made its nest in Amesbury's downtown area, with many shinies for the council and quite a bit of prestige for the town. Also, I really like those 70s/80s brown buildings (bottom of the picture).

The Quinto Inc. prefab company set up a tower in the centre of Amesbury in the first exception to the building code in the town, which prohibits tall buildings.

That is when garbage backed up, requiring more pipes out and more pipes as water began to lack, too. But hey, this is a shiny lobby!

The building quickly dominated the skyline and became seen from miles around, like this view from a bridge on the M1/M2 junction.

And finally, a view of Amesbury, looking south! Next entry we will see the northern developments finally take off after ten years in the planning stages, and the construction of Amesbury's very first airport (in the large, wooden area in the top right-hand corner). That is, if we can deal with power and garbage related issues across town...
