Palmdale, located off the shore of Lake Crystal, saw booming growth in the 80s and 90s thanks to a strong economy, however, the Late 2000s recession severely damaged the economy, with unemployment peaking at 23%. This caused Palmdale's population to go from 658,102 in 2000 to 420,040 2012. After the election of a new mayor, unemployment finally went below 10% in March 2014, and Palmdale reported one its first year of population growth since 2007. Thinks are finally starting to turn back to normal again...

Downtown Palmdale, located on Downtown Island, has recently seen a hi-rise boom as a response to the desperate need of jobs in the valley. Building uses range from upper-class condos to hipster-targeted clothing stores.

Welcome to College Town. This is the University of Henderson- Palmdale campus. With 41,495 undergraduate students and 12,732 UHPD is the second largest campus after the Radiator Springs campus (62,198 undergraduates). With 94.8% of the student body residing in College Town, nearly half of all College Town residents are current students, with another 28% being former students.

West Venice has recently been seeing strong growth after a project was started in 2005 to create more jobs after the mayor of that time realized an unstoppable economic disaster was coming. The project includes the Midnight Business District and the West Venice Entertainment District.

Venice, according to the residents of the Palmdale Valley, is the only district with nothing special about it, which explains why only 34% of Venice residents are satisfied with things to do in the Venice District.
