Update 87 - HAWTHORNE: Wrenn and Dakota Neighborhoods (Neighborhood of W's)

We continue our mini-tour of Hathorne on the east side of South Baylor Avenue (N45, D29). The streets in this area parallel South Baylor Avenue and do not follow the North-South street number grid. However, all the north-south streets have W names. Often the area is referred to the Neighborhood of W's. (I should have used that as the title of this update, ha). Dakota Park anchors Dakota Neighborhood which is bordered by South Baylor Avenue, West DeKalb Avenue, South Hardee Drive, South Mayers Road, and West Eisenhower Avenue. Wrenn Park anchors Wrenn Neighborhood which is bordered by West Eisenhower Avenue, South Mayers Road, West Farragut Avenue, and South Baylor Avenue. A pretty straight forward update. Hope you enjoy it.

Well back in a rut where I never seem to have enough time to play SimCity. Hope you enjoyed this update. I admit the last mosaic, I went a little too far with the perspective again. Still trying to find the perfect variety. The next few weeks, DOW will be on hiatus. I am travelling home to America and will not have any time to play or update.

Check out the District of Wenzel Street Map to get an idea where we are.

Look at that region pic. Then look at SC (2013)'s region layout. What do you notice? :)

Thanks.  Still working on getting the best pictures I can get!

I like the long pictures. Pretty cool. The flares I could do without.

I feel the pictures are a little boring without the flares sometimes...but at other times I not sure where a flare is appropriate.

I like to see your CJ. The street map is great!

Thank you very much.

Nice Mosaic :D

Seems all I have are mosaics, haha

I cannot get over the beauty of the Google Earth-style pictures :)

I'm doing what I can.  A recent post from Ocean Quigley or whatever about all the picture taking features in the new SimCity made me laugh and sad at the same time.  I would love to have more freedom to take 3D pictures of my city of course...but couldn't they have spent a little more time making a better more complete realistic single-player SimCity?  Off topic now.

I assume you are referring to the fact the SC2013's regions are not continuous (cities can not blend into each other).  I hate that.  Go to Google maps/earth and turn off the map overlay and words, etc., look out your plane window when flying, and you will see there is no artificial blank land in between cities.  Everything flows naturally.  Sadly, SC2013's region layout reminds me of the Sims neighborhood layout.  I think SC2013 has some fine upgrades (game engine)...imagine how awesome it would have been if that stuff had been implemented in a more realistic manner like SC4 now plays/looks like.  Sad thing about my game playing this past year is that I will return to playing Madden 12 when my XBox is fixed and I will remain loyal to SC4 (a 10 year old game) because Madden 13 and SC2013 both introduced cool new game engines but the game built around that engine fell short in many other important ways.
