It was a normal day in Japan, where TV Channels show their Taiga dramas, their animations as well as a broadcast of the Diet.

In the end, thousands are dead, injured and missing. The tsunami also destroyed Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant's Backup diesel powers, causing a nuclear emergency, then to disaster.

Hard to believe that was a year ago when I watched it live (it was this exact time too to make it more perfect :P ). Great montage/tribute and nice way to tie SC4 into it.

I arrived back in Japan about a week and a half after it happened. I had lived here for about three years before, and the atmosphere in Tokyo was very odd, nothing like my previous stays. It's gotten much better in the areas south of the quake, but it was so destructive nothing will ever be the same for the people of Tohoku. All the TV stations are airing one-year-later type specials, and NHK has been showing it for at least the last week. It is heartbreaking and heartwarming simultaneously. My prayers go out to them as they continue to put themselves back together. Much strength is in these islands...
