Chapter - II
Monseroux Politics:
The Royal Parliament of Monseroux has two Political Parties; the Royal Conservatives, and the Monseroux Liberal Party.
Both were founded when Parliament was founded in 1811; however the Liberals have never won a single general election.
Elections in Monseroux are called every 5 years and each local ‘Centro dé Rué’ (constituency) takes to the polls to vote for
their local Parliament Representative. Whichever party gains the more Political Representatives, out of a total of 117, is
brought forth to represent the peoples interests in Parliament.
The Royal Conservatives:
The Royal Conservative Party has traditionally being Chaired by the reigning Monarch of the time. The Chairman of the
Conservatives oversees the funding, and organisation of the party. The current Chairman of the Royal Conservatives in 2009
is the current Monarch: King Claude lé Darling. The Royal Conservatives have always being known for their loyalty to the
Monarchy and any attempts made in Parliament to further reduce the Monarchs power are heavily overcome by the Conservative Representatives.
The party firmly believes that a solid family, with Christian values and good traditional morals is needed in order for society
to function properly. Many Conservative Reps. would also go further and state that marriage between a man and a woman
is the only type of marriage that can bring about this stable home.
Other Conservative policies include; the idea of Free Market Capitalism, a strong and heavily funded Military, small-government,
the right to bare arms, devotion to the Constitution, low taxes on all classes, Laissez-Faire politics, rugged individualism and no
Corporate Tax. With these policies, the Conservatives hold strong voting power in many of the suburban areas of Monseroux,
where the new College intellectuals have yet to move out from inner-city LaCoix.
Monseroux Liberal Party:
Founded in 1811 at the same time as the Conservative Party, the Monseroux Liberals have always being the lesser of the
two parties. The first Chairman, Jeané Raniar, founded the Liberal party on the basis that bringing equality and more freedom
to Monseroux, would bring about a stable society. The Liberals have traditionally had a considerable voting power in the Inner
Cities of; LaCoix and il Somblé, with many students and intellectuals supporting the party.
Liberal Party Policies include; Free Market Capitalism, small-government, Sexual Equality, Racial Equality, Religious Equality,
Free Schooling, De-Privatization of the Healthcare system, legalizing same-sex marriage and state-funded alcohol and drug
rehabilitation clinics.
It is these policies of equality and basic liberalism that gives the Liberal party the disadvantage due to the rational, conservative
nature of Monserouvians.

The city of LaCoix has being the centre of Monserouvian Culture for the past 200 years. Parisian Boulevards meet with small
red-brick streets to create a sense of a time gone by. Fashionable boutiques line the streets as do their customized, and
powerful customers. In 1815 an envious French army made up of mostly peasants attempted to destroy the wealth and beauty
that the city of LaCoix had become acustomed to. An army of 13,000 Peasants lead by the infamous, Jaques Pip, ransacked the
city leaving hundreds for dead and the city almost destroyed.
The people of LaCoix however, moved on and built the city once more to rival the might of the French. Since that day relations
between the French and Monseroux Governments have being rocky, with it still being illegal for a French citizen to enter the
state of Monseroux without a license from the reigning Monarch.
When Monseroux was invaded by the French again in 1867, Monseroux and the Monarch were more prepared. The Royal
Guard of the then reigning Monarch, Albert lé Darling, numbered into their thousands by this point and with decades of funded
training by the Damiano D'Asti Banking Family and also from British and Italian sources, the Royal Guard were ready. As the
French army marched through the Marouvian Mountains, the Royal Guard Cavalry and Artillerey Battalions laid hell upon the now
surrounded French troops whom retreated never to set-foot on Monseroux soil again. With help from the British Royal Family
and Government (who up untill the last 20 years regularly wined and dined with the lé Darling Royal Family), LaCoix was safe
and open borders and Amnesty for all British citizens wishing to live (as long as they earned over £45,000 British Pound Sterling
a year) was granted.
English which was already quite widely spoken in Monseroux, was incorporated into the French language to form a sub-dialect
which is now widely spoken, however newspapers, television appearances and all other forms of media are spoken in English
(with a slightly French accent).
LaCoix city as it stands today overlooking the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, hardly untouched by modern architecture (Well
except for Casino Monte Pristo).

An ariel view of the whole of LaCoix city going on up into the Marouvian Mountains.

Rué del Arcade Grandé is the centre of shopping for the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit Monseroux every year, and
also where the LaCoix Fashion Week is held. The Street has being painted many a time and inspired many works of fashion by many designers.

Innter-City Parisian Architecture meets the modern suburbs that make an ideal living community for any new family.

The LaCoix suburbs of Fluér and Richardson Salles are easily accesable via the inter-city avenues that blend in seemingly with the landscape.
