  1. Introduction

The Official Flag of the State of Monseroux Founded in 1789, during the start of the French Revolution, Aristocrat Nathanial lé Darling moved his family and assets from Paris to the French Riviera. Lé Darling came across Monte Pristo Bay, as it was known then and along with his small army of Cavaliers began to lay the foundations for the country that was to be known as Monseroux. In 1791 lé Darling, and the influential banking figure, Rudolph Damiano D’Asti, had invested massive sums of money into the local area constructing; a canal system, harbour and other wonders that make the city of LaCoix so appealing to tourists worldwide. The Damiano D’Asti Banking Trust Headquarters moved into the now large town of LaCoix in 1792, as tensions in France grew massively between the Aristocracy and the Peasantry. In 1792, just before the fall of the French Monarch, Duke lé Darling of the Principality of Monseroux signed the Treaty of Monte Pristo along with King Louis XVI of France, giving the small state of Monseroux its independence from France, and creating a safe haven for the Aristocracy of the former French Monarch as well as many of the Parisian Elite. 5. Chapter - III

The Monarchy of Monseroux, lé Darling Nathan lé Darling was the first Crowned King of Monseroux and took up the throne at the seat of Parliament in 1792. Born in Paris in 1739, King Nathanial kept his position as Head of State until his death in 1811. It was King Nathanial’s decision and last testimony that after his death a Constitution be formed and an elected Parliament set-up. In December 1811 his last wishes were honoured and Parliament with elected officials opened by his successor and son, King Albert lé Darling I. King Albert I was a devout Conservative and with the opening of Parliament founded the Royal Conservative Party to which he was to Chair. This chairing of the Conservatives by the reigning Monarch has since become tradition with every successive King taking up Chairmanship. (Unfortunately Princesses cannot become Queen, or head of state... yet) King Albert and the Conservatives sought to increase Monseroux’s influence throughout Europe through both the economy and also socially. King Albert with help from his fathers Right-Hand, Rudolph Damiano D’Asti the 1st, established LaCoix-Europe Chic, a Fashion company that would influence the world fashion scene up until the present day, and taking centre stage at the LaCoix Washion Week. Rudolph Damiano D'Asti the 3rd promotes and wears the LaCoix-Europe Chic designed suits just as his great-great-grandfather did. Over the years the Monarch has built up a significant international group of contacts ranging from; Political Figures and Heads of State, Celebrities, Businessmen and women, Explorers, Fashion Designers and most importantly other Royal Families. Each year the reigning Monarch hosts the: Annual Hotel lé Mode Reception. The exclusive wine & dine attracts hundreds of wealthy, powerful indivuduals and interest groups from across the globe. Most notably; the Leaders of many European Nations, European Royal Families, and political figureheads. Annual Hotel lé Mode is a chance for the lé Darling Family to present Monseroux to the world, and to promote the economical and social values that the Royal Family uphold. Annual Hotel lé Mode however does not always go accoprding to plan as was seen in the year 1925. King Philíp lé Darling, Monarch of the time, hosted the event and many European Leaders attended. It was seen to be the years most notable meeting of leaders and was highly attended. Tensions between many countires in Europe were growing at the time and the atmosphere would have being all but unbearable without the charming, charismatic nature of King Philíp. Wine was downed and Food devoured untill the early hours of the morning between the European Elite. The French wee-weed, and the Italians si-si'd, all was seemingly pleasant untill the French (notable for their non-existent sense of humour) took a Russian joke about "When was the last good French Barbeque and Joan of Arc" a bit too seriously. Rosé throwing and cutlery hurling ensumed as the French and Russians re-enacted the battle of Berezina within the grand halls. With the Russian grasping Victory (Once again) the ashamed French Leaders stormed from the Hotel lé Mode (taking the Champagne with them) never to return. Hotel lé Mode towering above the other expensive residences and Monte Pristo Marina, on the Avion Penninsula. The French Prime Minister, Daladier after the spoon fight In Modern Times the Monarch under King Claude lé Darling has returned to its Conservative, Patriotic roots and is busier than ever as one of the most popular and succesful Kings of Monseroux ever. King Claude and many other relatives and Aristocrats frequently make trips abroad to visit leaders and organisations alike, on business and promoting Monseroux. The Royal Family has arguably invested more in its nations future and past than any other Royal Family in the world. Constructing canals, investing in business, establishing trading partners, and having the entrepreneurial spirit that has driven Monseroux forward in both Finance and Culture in many Monserouvians eyes earns them the title of Patriarchs of the Monseroux State. King Claude lé Darling meets with his son, Prince Sebastian lé Darling, at the opening of Parliment in January King Claude's father, King Albert the 2nd at the Annual Hotel lé Mode in 1956. King Albert II was a heavy smoker and drinker and would often make drunken television appearences slurring curses at the French government, an eventful happening that earned him much popularity amongst the Monserouvian people. Hotel Savoux, the resting spot for Royalty and World Leaders when they come to Monseroux. Built in 1795 and owned and financed by lé Darling Architecture, the Hotel has laid host to many an influential figure.

Haha, gotta be environmentally friendly :D
  7. Chapter - II

Monseroux Politics: The Royal Parliament of Monseroux has two Political Parties; the Royal Conservatives, and the Monseroux Liberal Party. Both were founded when Parliament was founded in 1811; however the Liberals have never won a single general election. Elections in Monseroux are called every 5 years and each local ‘Centro dé Rué’ (constituency) takes to the polls to vote for their local Parliament Representative. Whichever party gains the more Political Representatives, out of a total of 117, is brought forth to represent the peoples interests in Parliament. The Royal Conservatives: The Royal Conservative Party has traditionally being Chaired by the reigning Monarch of the time. The Chairman of the Conservatives oversees the funding, and organisation of the party. The current Chairman of the Royal Conservatives in 2009 is the current Monarch: King Claude lé Darling. The Royal Conservatives have always being known for their loyalty to the Monarchy and any attempts made in Parliament to further reduce the Monarchs power are heavily overcome by the Conservative Representatives. The party firmly believes that a solid family, with Christian values and good traditional morals is needed in order for society to function properly. Many Conservative Reps. would also go further and state that marriage between a man and a woman is the only type of marriage that can bring about this stable home. Other Conservative policies include; the idea of Free Market Capitalism, a strong and heavily funded Military, small-government, the right to bare arms, devotion to the Constitution, low taxes on all classes, Laissez-Faire politics, rugged individualism and no Corporate Tax. With these policies, the Conservatives hold strong voting power in many of the suburban areas of Monseroux, where the new College intellectuals have yet to move out from inner-city LaCoix. Monseroux Liberal Party: Founded in 1811 at the same time as the Conservative Party, the Monseroux Liberals have always being the lesser of the two parties. The first Chairman, Jeané Raniar, founded the Liberal party on the basis that bringing equality and more freedom to Monseroux, would bring about a stable society. The Liberals have traditionally had a considerable voting power in the Inner Cities of; LaCoix and il Somblé, with many students and intellectuals supporting the party. Liberal Party Policies include; Free Market Capitalism, small-government, Sexual Equality, Racial Equality, Religious Equality, Free Schooling, De-Privatization of the Healthcare system, legalizing same-sex marriage and state-funded alcohol and drug rehabilitation clinics. It is these policies of equality and basic liberalism that gives the Liberal party the disadvantage due to the rational, conservative nature of Monserouvians. The city of LaCoix has being the centre of Monserouvian Culture for the past 200 years. Parisian Boulevards meet with small red-brick streets to create a sense of a time gone by. Fashionable boutiques line the streets as do their customized, and powerful customers. In 1815 an envious French army made up of mostly peasants attempted to destroy the wealth and beauty that the city of LaCoix had become acustomed to. An army of 13,000 Peasants lead by the infamous, Jaques Pip, ransacked the city leaving hundreds for dead and the city almost destroyed. The people of LaCoix however, moved on and built the city once more to rival the might of the French. Since that day relations between the French and Monseroux Governments have being rocky, with it still being illegal for a French citizen to enter the state of Monseroux without a license from the reigning Monarch. When Monseroux was invaded by the French again in 1867, Monseroux and the Monarch were more prepared. The Royal Guard of the then reigning Monarch, Albert lé Darling, numbered into their thousands by this point and with decades of funded training by the Damiano D'Asti Banking Family and also from British and Italian sources, the Royal Guard were ready. As the French army marched through the Marouvian Mountains, the Royal Guard Cavalry and Artillerey Battalions laid hell upon the now surrounded French troops whom retreated never to set-foot on Monseroux soil again. With help from the British Royal Family and Government (who up untill the last 20 years regularly wined and dined with the lé Darling Royal Family), LaCoix was safe and open borders and Amnesty for all British citizens wishing to live (as long as they earned over £45,000 British Pound Sterling a year) was granted. English which was already quite widely spoken in Monseroux, was incorporated into the French language to form a sub-dialect which is now widely spoken, however newspapers, television appearances and all other forms of media are spoken in English (with a slightly French accent). LaCoix city as it stands today overlooking the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea, hardly untouched by modern architecture (Well except for Casino Monte Pristo). An ariel view of the whole of LaCoix city going on up into the Marouvian Mountains. Rué del Arcade Grandé is the centre of shopping for the hundreds of thousands of tourists that visit Monseroux every year, and also where the LaCoix Fashion Week is held. The Street has being painted many a time and inspired many works of fashion by many designers. Innter-City Parisian Architecture meets the modern suburbs that make an ideal living community for any new family. The LaCoix suburbs of Fluér and Richardson Salles are easily accesable via the inter-city avenues that blend in seemingly with the landscape.
  8. Chapter - I

A Modern World In today’s world Monseroux takes a step back from International affairs and tends to deal with its own problems. Not taking up membership in the UN, EU, or NATO, both King Claude lé Darling and Prime Minister Fureux, believe firmly that it is in the interests of Monseroux not to become involved in the petty squabbles of the outside world, and also not to be held ransom by trade agreements. Monseroux has two political parties; the Royal Conservatives, and the People’s Liberal Party. It is tradition for the current reigning Monarch of Monseroux to take up the Chairmanship of the Royal Conservative Party and this has being done since the formation of Parliament, 200 years ago. The People’s Liberal Party have never won an election to-date due to the dominance of the Royal Conservatives in Parliament. In recent times King Claude lé Darling and his father, King Albert lé Darling, have being criticized for their public relationships with many Organised Crime figures most notably Sicilian Mafia Bosses and also Russian Oil Tycoons. The lé Darlings tendency to circulate within the highest social circles of Monseroux and also European culture is perhaps their most famous trait, and many historians consider their reign to be more of a European Soap Opera rather than a Monarchy. This celebrity status however ensures the popularity, and influence of the lé Darling Family making them greatly loved in comparison to other Royal Families. The Monseroux Parliament Building, built in 1795. Parliament is open 24/7, however is not open to the public and only official Representatives or 'Whigs' as they are known are allowed to enter the Chambers. This is an ariel view of the centre of LaCoix. Much of the centre of LaCoix was built during the late 18th century in the years 1790 - 1800 in the Parisian style. The town centre is alive with bustling restaraunts and bars along with the best Boutique shopping on the Riviera with shops such as; Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, LaCoix and Gaultier. Saint Prichardé Catholic Chapel located on Rué dé D'Asti, was the first religious structure to be built in the city of LaCoix. Since its construction in 1790, the Chapel has suffered both a short French Invasion and also the horrors of the Monseroux Bombardment of 1941 by the Nazis. Today the Chapel still stands strong and is attended by the Monarch every Sunday for Mass. l'Opera dé Damiano D'Asti was built in 1791 by the prominent banking family of the Damiano D'Asti's. The Opera House has hosted many of the centuries greatest acts and is the epitamy of Monseroux life and culture. Vibrant plays hosted in grandé Halls along with rich and powerful guests make l'Opera dé D'Asti the number one tourist attraction in LaCoix. There will be more updates to come. Thanks for viewing the Journal and keep comment on my progress please. Cheers everyone. - Luke
