I wonder if we were ready for this. We, all 300 of us, were brave enough to risk our own lives and even those of our young children to test experimental technology that has allowed us to travel the stars and contact another people.

This is the question that has ran through my mind each night as I lay my head down to sleep. I think we were as ready as we could, or as I could, have hoped for us to be. We were able to program our on-board computerized human response system (CHRiS) to communicate with the orb in our shared ancient language. We fed questions into CHRiS, but the orb didn't respond. We asked questions regarding what happened to the orb's people, the devastation found in the Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka systems, and about our own history. We were never given a response. The orb only kept repeating, "to 'Naaswa' we must go." I sai
