TOURING SIMCOE - PART TWO

REPLIES ARE DONE IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF EACH UPDATE. :)

Welcome back to Simcoe where we are again taking a tour through the town. Today we are looking at the town's favourite outdoor space, a new development and a few other things. So sit back and chillax, we're off and exploring!

To start off today's exploring we are looking at Simcoe Central Park. As you can see, this section of the park has soccer fields and a driving range. The driving range is not-for-profit, and is operated by the town. All proceed go to maintenance of the park. The lake showing through is man-made, and was one of the first things to be built in Simcoe.

Next we have the other potion of the park, zoomed out. As you can see, baseball diamonds and a cricket oval are part of the park. The trail through the park is also popular to residents looking to go for a nice walk outdoors.

Of course, if walking outdoors isn't your thing, visit The Simcoe Square Centre. This mall is part of the new Simcoe Crossing development. It also features big-box retail and future office space.

Here is some of the mentioned big-box style retail. The movie theatre is a very popular gathering place for people of all ages, and Sam's Club offers all bulk-size shopping needs.

update34simcoe4.jpg

The town's new Super Target has recently just opened and joined Simcoe Crossings. This brings the total number of available grocery stores up to 3 in Simcoe.

Some smaller big-box stores have also recently opened, providing employment and shorter shopping trips for Simcoe residents just in time for the holidays.

This is construction HQ of the development. This site will house more retail and new office space. Residential is also proposed, but town council has not yet approved that portion of the development.

Simcoe is also home to its own hospital, having opened approximately 5 simyears ago. The hospital is currently the second largest employer in town.

And to end off the update, a first in Windemere! This is the first mosaic in the CJ!
