Cape Caravella: Southport (business district)
Due south of the French Quarter district is the business district of Cape Caravella: Southport.
Originally developed as a commercial port, most buildings were abandoned in the late 80's and early 90's due to the development of a new modern port in the neighbouring city of Port Douglas.
In the late 90's Southport was redeveloped into the main business district of Cape Caravella. Southport is most know for the iconic Regatta centre and hotel and the only Apple Store in the country. At Southport you can also find the University of Cape Caravella as well as the largest marina of the city.
