Îles d'Caravella, is a small sovereign state located in the southern hemisphere. Îles d'Caravella is a republic, with president Jonathan Christian Byron as head of state. The House of Byron has ruled Îles d'Caravella since 1879, and the state's sovereignty was officially recognized by France in 1920.
Îles d'Caravella is one of the world's most densely populated sovereign countries with Cape Caravella as it's capital city. Îles d'Caravella is often regarded as a tax haven, and many of its inhabitants are wealthy. There is also a high number of inhabitants from foreign countries, making up around 38% of the population.
For around 40,000 years before European settlement commenced in the late 18th century, the Caravella region was inhabited by around 8 individual nations of indigenous people. After sporadic visits by fishermen from nearby countries, and European discovery by Dutch explorers in 1606, Îles d'Caravella was claimed and named by the French in 1788. Athough claimed by the French, the majority of the Europeans that moved to Îles d'Caravella were British.
On 5 October 1879, the Lords of Byron declared Îles d'Caravella independence. Although France refused to recognise the independence of Îles d'Caravella at first, the French finally recognised Îles d'Caravella as a sovereign state inmediatly after the first world war (1920).
Technologically advanced and industrialised, Îles d'Caravella is a prosperous multicultural country and has excellent results in many international comparisons of national performance such as health care, life expectancy, quality-of-life, human development, public education, economic freedom, and the protection of civil liberties and political rights. Caravella's cities also routinely rank among the world´s highest in terms of livability, cultural offerings, and quality of life. Îles d'Caravella is a member of the United Nations, OECD and the WTO.
