Ooo, you asked for advice! A big thing I try to think about since I've been building my city is whether or not I'd want to live there. This has led me to rebuild big sections of my region in order to achieve two goals: make it prettier (of course), and make it livable. I think that your grid pattern is a fine example of city building. No one will get lost in it. However, there aren't a lot of open spaces, parks, or relief to the endless tracts of buildings. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I am sure there are plenty of real-life examples of this. I just thought I'd give you a little friendly advice to help you along. Ain't no shame in trying to maximize your population!

I might have a go at that Method. Add a Big Park in the Center of town and Try and Build a big City at the Same time
