Little Italy
This update, we'll look at some interesting events in the older "Little Italy" district. So you know, I will refer to the Old Town as Little Italy, because I really wanted an Italian-style ethnic neighborhood in the city, similar to the Little Italy in New York. San Lorenzo, according to demographic data, has the largest percentage of people who claim Italian heritage of any other West Coast city. This may be because the name of the city and state (San Lorenzo, New Loreto) are Italian-sounding; and Loreto is a town in Italy that is revered as a site of pilgrimage.

Above is a mosaic of the Little Italy district. It is the oldest district in the city, and in some places you can even find traces of cobblestone underneath the pavement. It became a predominately Italian neighborhood in the early 1900s, with immigrants opening up many businesses. Today, there are a lot of different people living in the district, although many of them have some kind of Italian heritage.

The district is widely known for it's restaurants, shops, and other various businesses that have been mostly owned by Italian-Americans. Unfortunately, it can be dangerous at night due to the presence of Italian mafias.

Little Italy contains many special businesses and landmarks. The old church, St. Francis, was one of the earliest Catholic parishes in the city. Another more famous landmark is the Siracusa Theatre, built by a wealthy Sicilian man who had a love for Opera and preforming arts.

Tony: "You're watching Lorenzo News. This is Tony Bushowitz here at the apartment where the Little Italy burglar, now identified as John Capriano, lives. He has not been seen, and the residents have been questioned about his where-a-bouts. I've asked a couple neighbors to comment."

Neighbor: "Oh, great. We have some creep living next door. I thought these new loft apartments were supposed to be for those of us who are trendy and would rather live in an industrial area just to show how hip we are. But NOO, now the prices will drop because of this criminal, and then a bunch of poor middle class people will move in!"
Neighbor #2: "I don't know anything about burglars or anything.Oh, this isn't a weapon by the way, it's just a, um, water gun....... Yeah. This is kind of awkward."
Tony: "On that note, I'm sure the burglar will be found. Now, the real question is whether he'll be taken to a jail cell or a morgue. It doesn't exactly help that, rumor has it, Luigi's Trattoria is a front for the Manzoni Family Mafia's weapons dealing. Also, they provide free catering for mafia gatherings."
