I don't like some of the old James Bond movies (Sean Conery is the reason). The rest weren't bad, I'm not a die-hard fan, but at the same time I don't hate them. Roger Moore is probably my favorite James Bond.

ohh, i don't think the new ones are going downhill.

sure they are getting more hi-tech and Bond is flirting with a lot less women but it still has that James Bond touch to it.

Die another day was stupid, but i love the connery ones. even if James Bond is supporting an opppressive colonialist government

The movies provide great escapism, but the books are better.  I rather like the idea of burying Dr. No under a pile of horse manure rather than boiling him in a reactor.  However, they wouldn't have been able to show that in theatres, then, I believe.

I don't like the new guy who is playing James Bond... he just doesn't look up to it. I think the best to play James Bond were Sean Connery & Pierce Brosman (also spelt Brosnan). But anyways, to answer you're question, since I grew up in the 90s, I only like the 90s films, but I'm sure there were better ones before my time.

I like the Sean Connery movies, they were coming out when i was a kid and they wowed me. the techno toys, the cars, the babes, Q, Money Penny. I loved some of the music like Shirley Bassey's Gold Finger theme. The new ones seam like spin offs. I'm sure they are better then that, I have not kept up.

@N_O_Body: I know what you mean about the books being better, they are the whole story and if you have any imagination the minds eye i think is more entertaining. Your comment about the ending of Dr. No brings to mind the difference between the book and movie versions of The Grapes of Wrath, the book ending would have a hard time today probably, yet both are fantastic.

@Micah: I think you have a good point, a lot is influenced by what you grew up with. Is that how generation gaps are formed? hahahahahaha

Wow, everyone skips Roger Moore (also there was another one, but he only did one movie) and either talks about Pierce Brosnan or Sean; Whats the deal?

There are people who hate Bond movies? Really? I can understand if someone isn't into them, or isn't impressed by them, but hating? I never would have thought.
Mind you, I haven't seen one since Rodger Moore. I was too dissapointed that they passed over Pierce Brosnan, and by the time they finnaly did get him, I wasn't really into it any more.
I do still enjoy watching the old Sean Connery ones from time to time. I love the 1960's era vision of futuristic technology... not to mention the fashion of the times. But personally, I could do without all the womanizing, though.

I agree, the new Bond is nothing like all of the others, but you never know he might be a fantastic bond, maybee.

Apart from George Lazenby, Roger Moore was one of the WORST Bonds ever, I have to agree Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan are the best. My favourite movie was probably Die Another Day or Goldeneye. The latter was great, especially how Trevelyan died. SPLAT! (On a side note does anyone remember the game? It was ace!) Daniel Craig is going to be nothing like the others, I think he's a bit too weedy...

I think Sean Connery is probably the best bond but i think that Roger Moore was too comical for the part

As for the 007 games i think that Everything or Nothing was quite good 29.gif

and the best Bond car would be ether the Vanquish or the classic one the DB5 or DB6 i can't quite remember which one Sean Connery used42.gif

I think is was the DB5. I got both Everything or Nothing and Goldeneye on my n64, when I'm bored I'll sometimes pull out the old console and play. 4.gif

James Bond movies are as a general rule a good laugh with plenty of action but not very good. I think the last real good one was Golden Eye.

The new one looks good though4.gif
