oh wow, comments!  I haven't been checking up in the custom content areas lately, so I didn't notice the bump.

 

I e-mailed Twrecks with a model of the new Poirer Hotel, but the footprint is bigger than it should be and is larger than 2x2 tiles.  So I need to fix that and re-render.

 

For the last three weeks I've been too busy to do much, but I spent two days making a building and a prop for simmars.  I'd still like to finish and render the other buildings too.  I just got a new computer for college, and I haven't gotten gmax on it yet, and I hope there aren't any complications with downloading it twice or something.  Also, in two weeks I leave for college, so I'm not sure how much time I'll have.  Although I've gotten alot more done during the school year than I did during the summer.

 

I'm realy bad at finishing projects.

Thanks for the comments everyone .  I was going to show this thread to my friend, and my internet bookmarks aren't on my new computer so I started looking for this thread at page 10 and I couldn't find it!  Eventualy I found that it had been active!  So thanks for the support.

 

I've also been working on getting my username here changed to Jasoncw instead of Kefka.  Kefka was actualy more like a temporary name becuase all of my usual usernames where already taken, and I couldn't think of a better name.  Also, my brother uses a similiar name, and I recently found out that in some cases he uses the same name.  Jasoncw is what I'm changing my name to around all the forums I post at around the internet, so if you ever see that name you'll know it's me.

GLENNI: why don't you want them in the chicago tileset?  Isn't that where they should belong?  There's also the ploppable too.

well yeah but for some reason all of my maxis growable lots are screwed up for some reason.so thats why i downloaded the maxis building blocker  it blocks all maxis growables and put them in the chicago tileset.thats why i dont want  it there.but anway..its your bat...

Hmmm, I might be able to get a special lot for you.  If the normal lot gets released and I haven't sent you a non-tileset lot, pm me to remind me.  and I think it was also in the New York tileset, I can't remember, so if it's in both there might not be a problem.

Those last two builidngs are breathtaking, absolutely charming buildings that exude character, especially the red one. I shall look forward too seeing more.

I've been getting my new computer ready for a while, went on vacation, and camping, and getting ready for college for the last month.  I leave for college in a few days, and during it I won't have time for BAT untill I get into my routine.

 

I don't even have sim city on my new computer, and I'm having problems getting sim city.com to log me in so I don't have the bat or lot editor either.

 

I'll get everything eventualy, just not especialy soon.  I don't believe I've been trying to finish these since april!

I've ran into a big problem I finaly got around to getting the bat on my new computer, but when I open a building (I tried to open my old buildings) it comes up blank after saying The Scene XRef file: C:\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\scenes\startup\TB2_CameraLightRig.gmax can not be found.  It says that becuase I deleted it!   I made a mistake while putting in the huge camera rig and accidently deleted it.  But then I redownloaded everything, and it still has that problem, and some files it says file open failed.  And the BAT stopped working on my old computer so I can't just render them there.

 

anyways, this big problem probably isn't all taht big, and I'm sure that it will work once I get the camera back in, since it worked beforehand (although it came up with a million and a half missing textures).  The problem is that my new computer has a C and an F drive.  All the old filename paths go to C, but my computer is mostly on F.  So I think I'll just repeat the directories on the C drive and save myself a big headache.

well, all the problems are fixed .

 

The short red building (monkey-dragon games) is pretty much done.  I sent the files to Twrecks to double check the stats, but when I played the game it seemed to be fine.

 

Mary Hotel/Arms still has pretty much everything left to do on it except the BAT itself, so that might take a while.

 

I highly doubt that I'll be finishing that building with the diagonal side in it's current form.  I might make it a 2x2.  I'm not sure if I'll keep the diagonal part of it.

 

I made a small 1x1 which is a work in progress.  I might be making more small buildings becuase they take less time to make and I can actualy finish them[:0].

Here it is so far.  imo it's lookin pretty good!   There's still alot of work to be done though.  I need to put some stuff in the lobby, do some landscaping in the open space in the back of the building, spruce up the entrance, convert some things into meshes, etc.  It's going to be called Wagner Hotel.  There might be a ploppable (maybe a reward?) (2x2), and then lots (2x3 and 2x4).  The back will have some kind of garden (maybe english) and will be very nice looking.  There might be very little or no parking space becuase all the guests get limoed around.

The story behind Kefka is that I made it one day on a different forum becuase all the other names I used where taken and I couldn't think of anything.  When I registered with this forum I was sick of my old names, and couldn't think of anything new, and used kefka again.  Mr brother uses a similair name, and in some cases it turned out that he was using the same name as me (kefka).  At the time I registered I thought that only his aim sn was similair, but it turned out I was wrong.  But I haven't been able to think of a better name untill now.  So I changed it becuase it was always a temporary name to me, and because my brother had the same name.  Also, Jasoncw is a little more profesional.  I tried to change my aim screen name to Jasoncw but it was already taken : (  Jason is my first name, and cw are my middle and last initials.

 

I've done a little bit more work on the Free press building since I last mentioned it, but not enough to upload a picture for.  Right now most of the back is done, but the roof and main entrance are not.  I still need to texture everything, but I'll do that after I reorganize my textures folder.  I just posted the same thing in the bsp thread.  I had actualy forgotten about it untill you just mentioned it .

Monkey-Dragon Games has hit the STEX.  The people on the roof don't seem to be very popular, I might take them out and then update it.  I think the roof might be a little plain with that empty space.

I'm glad you like the Wagner Hotel. do you (or does anyone) have any suggestions for it?  I won't be rendering it for a while.  There will definitly be a ploppable.

The wagner Hotel has a very nice deco appearance. My only suggestion would be; don't put it on a big lot. But you have the same idea about that.

Thank you for the monkey-dragon. It is a nice building. much needed in the old style sets. as are your other buildings.

Great Hotel. I agree that youy shouldn't put it on a too big lot although it should have a small but nice driveway with some green on the left and right.
Those people who can afford to be limoed don't like to walk, therefor you need a driveway ..

I'm hoping that the Wagner Hotel will work well on a 2x2 lot.  If it grows too much while testing then there might not be a 2x2 growable, but the ploppable will probably be 2x2.  There can even be a limo in the driveway waiting for somebody!

 

After I finish the projects I'm already working on, I think I'll make a few small buildings (1x1 light or med. density) to fit in with the chicago and new york tilesets.  Then I have a few ideas about another hotel, a casino/hotel (a reward), and a train station.  I'd also like to do more for the Barry Sanders Project.

 

I'm realy glad that people like Monkey-Dragon Games.  The comments here and on the STEX are very positive and I appreciate them alot.
