Hi! I just signed up for this forum. I've been playing with SimCity 4 for just a short amount of time and I'm glad I found this forum because I've learned a lot.

I just registered for this forum about 20 minutes ago. I browsed a little, then went into the STEX to try and download some stuff for my cities. I browsed up to about page 4, then I received a message saying that I had to register. Well, I had already registered, so I figured I got accidentally kicked off. But, when I went to sign in again, I was told that my username and password was wrong. When I returned to the other forum topics, I was still registered. I also tried getting into the chat, but it also rejected my username and password. My question is this: are newbies limited to what they can and cannot access until they post a certain number of times? Or something like that?

Thanks!

TE

You need to allow cookies and pop-ups here or things won't work right. (Don't worry, the pop-ups will not be ads.)

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

SkiGeek, I have a pop-up blocker installed and the Simtropolis pop-ups did not get affected by the blocker. The pop-up definition files very between developers of pop-up blockers.

I use Firefox with the pop-up blocker turned on and I get no problems with any aspect of this wonderful site.

Try logging out of Simtropolis, closing all open browser windows and then delete all your cookies, cache files, temporary internet files, and history log (depending on your browser).

This way when you open your browser, visit simtropolis and log in again, a new cookie will automatically be generated and stored in your browser (if you allow it).

Hopefully this should clear up your log in issue. Let us know if this works because their seems to be more than one of you with this problem and this would help narrow down the cause.

Yes, thank you for all of your help. I did clean out my cookie cache and did some fiddling with other settings. Everything seems to be working now. I really appreciate all of the advice!
