Good to see that the SFBT isn't done yet.

I love the Messeturm Basel - very international-style.

How is the radio telescope coming?

    No, we ain't dead at all. 2.gif Except from the stuff I posted over the last few weeks, the BATting is a bit slow at the moment, mainly due to time reasons. There is some small progress on the radio telescope, but Stollos is kinda busy with other stuff. I'll see if I can post some images later.

    Apart from that, simrolle and I'm working on SC4Tool (see the SimCity Building Database thread in the Lot Editor forums), and T Wrecks is still modding hundreds of SC4Desc files to make the stats more reasonable, compared with the in-game buildings.

    I really like the look of that power plant. When do you plan on releasing it? (No rush, I just wonder...)

    Oops, I just noticed I should update this thread more often... 43.gif

    @pansarkatt: The microwave power plant is nearly done and is in the beta-testing phase at the moment. The release shouldn't be very far away. Here's an updated screenshot:

    <ahttp://img43.imageshack.us/img43/9484/sfbtmkwstex8aj.jpg align=baseline>

    @HONG KONG: Unfortunately, Ch. P.'s computer had a harddisk failure, and he didn't have a backup of the GMAX model. Fortunately, he sent me the building shown above, so it can be released. More buildings of similar shape, but different sizes, colors etc. are planned, but it will take some time until the models are re-created.

    At the moment, we are working on a major project, a public transportation museum. The BAT itself is maybe not that fancy, but the amount of modding we did and what we still do is considerable. The museum building is an old tram depot modeled after some real-world ones in Germany, and it will be a reward, like the major art museum. We also added a custom historic tram that can be used in UDI mode. Here's a first preview shot:

    <ahttp://img395.imageshack.us/img395/4723/strabamuseum083zw.jpg align=baseline>

    In addition to the tram museum, we are also working on a new version of daeley's old tram mod, where you can place four different colored tram stations that spawn trams of the matching color. With these, you can finally use different colored GLR automata in your city.

    Some time ago, Spocky created some rural power poles - it's a set of lots with transparent base textures, and although you can use them only on perfectly flat terrain, they look quite nice along rural streets and roads. For the time being, no-one has replaced the in-game power poles, but I think this is a first approach.

    I've been waiting for power poles like this.  The wooden ones with 2 to 3 lines on them.  You find them everywhere!  Great job!

    Hello, Andreas.

    I've been following this thread for some time now and have very much enjoyed reading about and seeing the results of the SFBT team.  The BATS you've released are very good and are a nice addition to our gaming pleasure.

    I am quite interested in the power poles created by Spocky.  Do you have an idea as to when they will be available.  I can tell you from my own personal experience growing up that they strike a very memory-laden chord in me.  I was born and raised in Kansas (USA) and this type of power pole was THE way power was distributed both in town and in the country.  These power poles will be a great asset to SC4.

    Now, all we need (again with the reminiscing) is for someone to model a series of limestone fence posts and barbed wire which were used extensively in early Plains states history.  (Of course, they were also still in use when I was growing up but we won't talk about how long ago that was!)  2.gif

    In case anyone is interested (my apologies if I've overstepped here, Andreas), here is what they looked like:

    Thanks again, Andreas, for this great thread and the team's wonderful BATs.

    Regards,

    Vandy

    In the end you will see, You is you and me is me.

    Here's an update about our current project, the SFBT Tram Museum. It will be offered as a reward and comes in two different lot sizes (you can choose between both, but only build one). It also features a custom tram made by vester_DK that can be used in UDI mode as well. And as mentioned before, I will upload some of the work shown above very soon. 1.gif

    Another project we are working on: a highway bridge construction site. Other than the rising scaffolding around growable RCI buildings and the construction workers on new-drawn network pieces, construction sites are rather rare in SimCity - whereas every town has them, often more than you like. 2.gif

    What a fantastic idea, and so far so well pulled off in the creations you have made. I don't think the whole 'under construction' theme has been fully explored in the game so far.

    There are three bridges. One is about 300 m high, another about 40 m and the third (withe the curve) is 120 m.
    This bridges can be build one under each other, limited by the LOTs.

    Also you can build roads, rails and so on under the bridges.

    tn_bruecke5.jpg

    Or you let grow RCI under this bridges. But no scyscrapers, please! 9.gif

    The tram museum looks great. I think I'll take that tram depot BAT and turn it into a depot for my metro trains - they need a place to sleep at night. 44.gif
