Would love it if some more contemporary modern buildings were made. included some pics of the general idea. I think these kind of buildings would look good in redeveloped areas. modern schemes. that kind of thing, just an idea.. cheers

I notice a general shortage of high rises for R$$. There are very nice blocks of concrete available for those poor R$ and a lot of great bats for the R$$$ (that get abandoned the minute you turn your back on them). But actually I am looking for some decent new and fresh R$$ high rises. For all those poor R$$ souls who would rather live downtown than in the suburbs.

Anyone out there who feels compelled to this challenge?

Rocky88: You will need to check out the BatForMaxV2 Thread in the Bat Workshop, also you will need to download gmax from Turbo squid and download B.A.T. from the ea/simcity site. I've considered the Q1 several times, but I am swamped in other projects. Good luck!

Would anybody, or has anybody, created some Boston biuldings or transportation?  I've searched for awhile, but figured this would be the best place to find it.

Some possibilities:

Has anyone BATed a large airport that can be plopped as a building, has realistic stats and appearance, and is actually big enough to land a plane, unlike the in-game crap airports they give us? To make it really to scale, we'd be talking probably lengthwise as long as a medium city tile, or close, and widthwise at least half that.

I'm a decent city-builder, but I'm rather uncreative and lazy. I've always wanted to make a realistic, to-scale looking airport, but never finish building it because I can't get them right. I have the airport pieces pack but it's SO tedious, and if the land's not perfectly flat it becomes a headache. Plus, I never get them to look good. Has anyone, or can anyone, do this? PM me w/info if you have something. Even a tutorial would be nice!

i just found a cool thing on a cj here and now i thought about getting this to perfection:

an abandoned railtrack

i think of something like the GLR, but with grassy ground textures or something, maybe with the possibility to plopp trees over it.

could someone make this possible? i think it's a missing link to realism

I request for some batter to create Google's campus. I think sc4 lacks divers HT buildings, especially those mega structures that employ thousands of people like Google, apple, MS.

Perhaps this can be a reward lot for cities with sufficient high wealth residents and high I-HT demand.

Now, I started a new posting about this, so I am going to cross post (gosh, I hope I am not getting myself in trouble here...) a bit of the information so I can make it an official Bat request.

I am looking for roadside architecture.

If you see on my website http://www.marcavitch.com/ca you will find lots of pictures of what I am talking about.

Not a single good diner.
No major bowling alleys. (If someone wants to pass off a copy of the one from ea.com, that would be awesome.)
No drive-ins that really look right (fan shaped).
Motels are around, but there are no good cabin camps.
Some gas stations, but nothing wacky.
No real effort on some of the old restaurant types (howard johnsons? - and where is a good toll road service plaza for goodness sake?)

Well, you can see where I am going.

I, truely understand that this is a volunteer operation and I have no way of creating these things (on a Mac, I dont think at any rate). I do not wish to imply that someone has been asleep at the switch. We all have our own personal interests. So, this is my way of standing in the back of the room waiving my arms and making suggestions.

I would be happy to provide images, ideas, consultations, etc to help someone who had a real interest in creating roadside places. (Another thought, how about a tourist cave?) If you are interested, I hope you participate.

I really miss the 700 Louisiana Building from SC3000. I live in Houston Texas, and I can not find this building anywhere! BATters, if you want a project for the weekend, there are plenty of pictures of the Bank of America Center  in Houston on Google images. If it could function with jobs that would be an even bigger dream! I've tried to figure out the BAT, and GMAX thing, but I have A LOT of learning to do... the tutorial will have to wait. Thanks again!!

i am really surprised that simgoober or somebody hasnt made Red Robin, it is a big chain restaurant. Another thing that i think the game is lacking is a good football stadium. many are made, but they all look pretty cheesy in comparison to the great baseball stadium that Maxis put on the game. that would be awesome if someone made that. wha we all need, n id say immediatley, is lots more industrial warehouses like on 5x5 n 5x6 or even 6x6 lots, to make our cities more lifelike and maybe cement or asphalt lots dat can go under El highways and El trains....
