I love your plans for the canal. Maybe other smaller canals could develop and that would make a good city center. Maybe a larger park surrounded by canals with a road running through the middle.

The canal looks nice so far, and I think that there should also be some other smaller canals coming off of it when the city starts to grow.

LOL! And maybe we can have some stoner bars, just like Amsterdam! LOL! (Note: Amsterdam's a very cool city, but my experience there involved a pub with thick haze, surrounded by potheads. You don't want to hear the rest of the story.)

Well...I can't really answer that one. By the way, my previously noted experience had nothing to do with being stoned or hookers(surprisingly enough lol, considering the fact that it's Amsterdam). Anyways, I would go there again just for a good laugh.

Maybe questions ! Thanks.... Here are a couple answers

- About next poll : I know what it'll be but I need to post another update before starting it, otherwise you won't know what I'm talking about . All I can say is it's probably THE most important question so far concerning this specific city, since you'll get to define... the general structure of it! (I told you, this city really IS in your hands... )

 

- Dhoppeii : yes of course. Obviously the intensive traffic on the canal will end up stimulating growth along the canal, especially when it comes to trade... Look out for the upcoming updates!

 

- DaMaster : I think I'll need your help for next poll too since it worked so well last time. I'll PM you soon OK? And yes there is already a waterway system, only it is not for old buildings yet...

 

- GingerBlokey, Leech : no big park yet, since my city has just started its industrial revolution, but I take note of your suggestion for the future (in the post-industrial era for instance). And the smaller canals are not designed to be a city center yet. Realistically the point so far is to develop industry - but there will be a possibility to redesign canal usage when the need for commercial services takes over. Keep an eye on this city!!!

I'd really like to see some pictures of the canal filled with ships and so on! that will be great!

Oh well, having little commerce at the start is no big deal. I don't zone commercial until I have 10,000 Sims, then when I reach 50,000, I only zone commercial, and at 75,000, I replace the industrial with new commercial, which provides tax income and reduces pollution.
