Very nice.... never been to Merida, but I've been to Mexico City, and this could pass for a plaza area there too!

This is outstanding! I love your central plaza and all those little mexican houses. Incredible that you are rebuilding your own town so detailed, that you even put the correct houses in place.

And it does look so beautiful.
Makes me want to start a new village, a mexican one. Would be a competition to my UK village.

Es increible lo que has hecho.

gurrgkud: thank you for the nice comments, I'm glad you like my Cj.

Simjurgen:thanks, nice to see some people de mi tierra, and you are right, the porfiriatum era is very much like the victorian for the Brit.

Jerebannus XVI: I'm happy it's inspiring you, the atmosphere I wanted to recreate, well, I think I'm starting to get it.

barnatom: wow, a mexican town with your skills would be great, and thaks for visiting.

Well don't expect too much very soon, I'm still working on the BATs for the city, the current count: 37 lots, I'm still working on a house style and got many landmarks to go.

Kwakelaar and crazyarchitect: Thanks For your comments, Glad you're liking my CJ.

Currently I'm working on the Calle Ancha del Bazar (Market Broadway), also known as El paseo de las Bonitas (The Pretty ladies' walkway) which was the Comercial center of the city during the early 1900's. On this historical avenue rise some of the most beautiful french stlye buildings in the city, my favourites are the Ritter and Bock building and the Siglo XIX Hardware Company.

There's still much work to do on this avenue and I hope I can finnish Batting it soon.

Interesting CJ with an interesting theme. I like how you made up the history. The choice and placement of your BATs fits.

Hope I see some more of it!!

    Hello, DeBussyMan.

I have just had the pleasure of reading through your CJ and am quite impressesd with it so far.  I do enjoy the way you are developing your storyline and it is really outstanding that you are basing it on a RW place.

Finally, thank you so very much for your excellent BATs.  You are really very good at modelling and producing quality products.

I will be featuring these BATs in my upcoming CJ and am very excited about working with them.

I certainly look forward to your continued updates to this great CJ.

    Regards,

    Vandy

In the end you will see, You is you and me is me.

Hey I love this. I was an LDS missionary in Merida in the mid 90s. I have very fond feelings for that town. I spent a lot of time in the downtown area near the bus terminal and in the east side of town. I also spent time in Uman and Motul. I wish someone could BAT the convent in Izamal, the pyramid at Uxmal, the cathedral in Merida, or any of the fincas and haciendas. Another idea is the big traffic circle on the Paseo de Montejo. I got to see some very rustic ruins that had not been excavated and even found some busted pottery. Progreso is a nice town. People don't think of Merida they think of Cancun as far as the Yucatan goes. I really dug Merida for the culture there.
