WOW!! Long time I don't post, but I visited this huge CJ so many times! I am simply impressed of the realism and the colourful style that Anduin Valley has! Great work!!

I really enjoy those construction updates where you are near to make a tutorial, but it is quick and very enjoyable!!

Hello John,

Just taking a quick peek outside my shell to see what's up in AVR. I really have no idea how long it has been since I was here last, but it will be fun to go back and see what I have missed. I hope to visit more often. As for your last update, your work with PW is even better than I remembered. Hope all is well with you, and since you mentioned you will be on the road, may your travels be safe!

James

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a great summer,...

This wont be a full fledge update just a couple of pics following on Bernhard's comments. That was the only time I opened the game the last month!

In the meantime here's some answers and links.

You'll notice the lack of style in this (mini) update, blame it on my vacation lazyness... God it's great to just relax!

    Hummm....

    On with the answers...

    Nardo69

    Hi Bernhard,

I'll look into the dependecy problem as soon as I can, thanks for the link!

Point well taken about the height of that stream, but I wont correct it this time cause that would mean to redo the whole detailling and I don't feel like it by that heat... boy is it hot here! I'm sure It's worst in Istambul but I'm not accustomed to such heat...

The railyard though... good point, and this I can change easily and that will give me an incentive for a (very small) update...

See the pics below, I hope you like it.

I had a really good time on the road, went fishing, and visited relatives, and now back home to finish the vacations... enjoying the sun and playing guitar... now that's life!

I don't know those particular gas stations you're talking about I'll keep an eye open for those.

    See you soon my friend

    Take care

    -John

    Nik-nik

    Hey Niek,

Hehehe.... well I had my share of wet feet on my last fishing trip, so you're not alone on that topic!

The trails are BSC Forest Lots Without Base by deadwoods

... You should find them easily they're the one with the transparent texture..

I hope you had great holidays, mine sure are! France you say... do I hear crêpes? wink

Your seat will always be reserved in AVR my friend.

    See you soon!

    -John

    sobol (thrice)

    Hi Sobol...

Sorry to keep you waiting, but I didn't touch the PC in my vacation (well... almost...), made some corrections to Rayden's Transfer but that's all.

Don't worry about the big pic, when Anôrien will be finished I'll update the big picture.

Keep up your experimentations in the game, I'm sure that you'll come up with some new ideas!

    Take care

    Benedict

    Hey Benedict,

Glad to know that AVR can brighten your fridays!

    Take care!

    SpecialEddie

    Hi Eddie,

Thanks man, it'll be difficult to live up to those great compliments! WINK

    cleaner475

    Hi Richard,

Well railyard workers tend to build big appetites!

    See you

    Alafel

    Welcome to Anduin Valley Alafel

I really appreciate that you took the time to read the whole 150 pages, that's a lot of pages! Also liked the cheer! If I'm not mistaken it's the first in AVR!

As for a cheat for unlimited money you'll find several in the STEX, just type MONEY in the search engine and you'll find a lot of them, just use the one that will go best with your style.

    Come back anytime!

    See you

    topcliff

    Hi Topcliff,

    Welcome to Anduin Valley.

Thanks for those very kind words, about your wish, I'm convinced that anyone that takes the time and experiment with the game can achieve what he/she wants. The key words being patience and fun! After all this is a game...

Looking forward to reading you again.

    See you

    Livin in Sim

    Hi Liv,

I enjoyed the Kent Couch story, googled it and saw some pics! Yep no couch potato!

Yeah when I saw that chocolate factory I just went for it, now just imagine a child pride when he brings his mother or father at the show and tell and announce my mom's working at the chocolate factory! Beats the heck of saying "my dad's work at the IRS!" hehehe....

The other restaurant is the Broken Plate SPA BSC by spa

The tank is not carbonated water, but ...hushed voice.... it's an oil tank, SFBT Oil Storage Tanks By Mathe Man by Andreas Roth

, but don't spread the word...returning to a normal tone.... don't worry about the bears, they come from Jellystone Park and are quite tamed! WINK

About being adventurous, how can a guy resist the prospect of ending with a gal (or two!) on his lap, hehehe...

My vacation, and travels, went very well, I'm on my last week returning to work monday, well. we can't be on vacation forever! have to earn some dough for next year vacations!

    See you soon

    Take care

    -John

    jacqulina

    Hey Jacky,

It's going fine my friend, very fine, resting and relaxing a lot, still have a few days of vacations left... had so many accumulated vacation days that I had to take 'em... but who's complaining..! WINK

I hope all is well on your side too.

    Have a great week

    pvarcoe

    Hi Phil,

Well we had a "broiling" period (see answer to Bernhard at the top) as well here, was so hot that I couldn't play guitar... I was sweating too much! But things aere back to normal, weather's fine and comfortable now (around 25 celcius today with some light breeze...)

Always good to read you my friend.

    See you

    John

    Rayden

    Hi Sylvio,

Nahhh guitar is not winning over AVR, just needed some time of from the game.

All is indeed very well, and I'm snapping the guitar strings like crazy! (If only I was good... sigh...)

Don't worry, regular updates should begin shortly, I'll probably fire the game a couple of time this week, and try to come up with new pictures for next friday, not this one... next one...

    See you my friend,

    Take care

    John

    dedgren

    Hi David,

always the one who nails it down! Yep needed a break, I honestly thought I would play a lot with SC4 in my vacations, but instead I just fished, read, basked in the sun, ride my bicycle, go to the movies, eat (yum), play the guitar, mowed the lawn (yuck..), did some gardening, went to the beach, travelled, celebrated an anniversary, wen't to see the first NASCAR race in Montreal, had some friends visiting, well as you can see, nothing much I guess...

Hoping all is going well for you and the family.

    See you soon

    John

    Fallon144

    Hi Fallon,

Thanks man, and more regular updates should be comming next week.

    See you!

Well my vacations are almost at an end, I think the rest has done me good and I should come back to AVR in a short while.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I wish everyone a great summer end, have fun go play outside too!

    In the meantime

Take care and enjoy life 10.gif

    John aka Darmok,

    Welcome back John!

Let me hope that that Rhum punch didn't punch you too much if it is that hot ... 17.gif

About the weather - yeah ?t had been hot and becomes hot again but in the meantime ... I made a lot of jokes like "Why are we here in cold Turkey instead of hot Germany ..." ..

Rayden's  Transfer is muuuch better that way (and an interesting place for the brandnew German Semaphore Signal I am testing at the moment - see Urland, I guess you will like my last updates ... )

Remember the small switching tower(s) you asked me for the link some time ago? The perfect place for one of them would be inside that railway track triangle ... 2.gif

Take care and don't forget to make backups!

    Bernhard

    PS: I just ordered a new graphics card - a nVidia ...

    Hello John,

It really is good to be back in AVR! The last couple of months were kinda rough, but I'm getting back on the horse, so to speak. I just need to keep a tighter grip on the reins. I had thought that I would have a lot of catching up to do, but it turns out I have only been MIA since p. 142. You really have done some amazing work since then. Your work always inspires me and gives me ideas I can use. Thanks for keeping the light on! I will certainly be back more often, especially since it sounds as though AVR is nearing completion.

    Hey,

I do believe that this is my first visit here. I can't imagine all of the great work I've missed here. Excellent job with the railyard there and modifying the tracks.  Also your use of the RT's was very creative and nice.  Keep it up!

Oh, I noticed in your replies that you mentioned you went to that NASCAR race in Montreal last weekend. How was it?

Glad to hear you are taking some time to recharge. How hot is it in your neck of the woods? We're sitting close to 90F (32C) in Southern CA, but it seems like it is warm everywhere. At least the excellently detailed water near the transfer center looks cool (If not a bit swampy). The transfer center looks great when doubled up like that. The only thing I'm curious about is the track switch just down the line from the center (as seen in the bottom of 04). It seems to be a duplicate of the switch closer to the yard. There's no real problem with duplication like that, but it seems that a train on the lower track cannot continue on a straight course and is force to head down (south?). All in all though, it looks very well done, including the sheds across the road from the station. It ties it all together. Hope you are well.
