Hello John.

Well it certainly has been awhile since my last visit43.gif. I must say I have missed plenty. Osgiliath is coming along beautifully my friend. The city has grown very quickly and yet with much care and effort5.gif Your terraforming skills never cease to amaze me in that you can make something look so natural in both the buildings and the lands around them29.gif 60 pages is well deserved my friend. You also seem to get a bigger and bigger folowing as time goes on29.gif (and so you should).
Take care for now buddy. I have to start to work on an update myself. It's been awhile43.gif

18.gif Thanks buddy! I really liked working with that last BAT, fits very well in that spot, Jason had a good eye to find one. But then again, he wanted his lot to be showcased I guess, hummmm. 2.gif Jason could sell ice in the Antartic if he wanted to! Seriously that is a great BAT and I was just looking for a good spot for it.
Thanks for your great support S_A
Now go back to that computer of yours and write some more of those good jokes of yours for Savanah Way.
    Take care!

Great update, great development. It looked very beautiful, and I liked the way you developed the village. Very realistic and gave me some ideas for Green Depra. I love how you put so many details in, its so carefully designed and it ends us with this great effect where everything flows in together to form an awsome, stunning overall look. I'm a huge fan of your work!

PS. That puzzle piece sure went crazy! 2.gif

    John,

Oh my...I got home from work last night and checked my email and saw your bonus update.  I must say that I am floored (and honored 16.gif ) to see PTS show up in AVR.  Believe it or not, you are the first person to show PTS in a CJ.  I think it does look very good in game.  I thank you very kindly my friend.

Now, for this update...I like the rural feel to this one.  I just wish there was a way to get your farms to grow.  Have you tried getting one of the demand mods and increasing the I-r demand with it? 42.gif  If for no other reason than to get your farms to grow I think that would be ok.

I like the zoning you have going on here...and the entrance to the highway looks great.  My friend, fabulous work here... keep em coming... 44.gif

good use of the roundabouts to connect the freeway network, something i have personally never seen, but it seems to look pretty good. very peculiar what happened with the NAM pieces. keep it up and soon we will be at page 60!

It's been a while since I've stopped in. I was wondering the same thing as Aldara, perhaps one of the demand mods might get those farms going. 42.gif I feel your pain - I had the same problem in Mt. Olive in my last journal. Even though there was almost no development in that city, the advanced state of the region's development seemed to keep agricultural demand in the negative. 15.gif

One small suggestion - rural areas usually have houses on bigger lots. I know you probably don't want a lot of mansions, but there must be a few modest homes on bigger lots. If you don't supply water you might get the kind of development you're looking for. 2.gif

I like the varying density of the trees and I love the pics of the church - that's one of my favorites off the STEX and it's hard for me not to want to use it all the time! 9.gif

    Hey Darmok.

I love the small village. The highway connection looks great, especially with that gas station there (that's always a nice detail...). Also the residential development, combined with the street layout and the trees looks nice. My favorite place is the area around St. Jacky's.

About the farms: I like where you've zoned the farmland. Too bad that they don't grow... I'm sure that would've been a great touch. I already made that experience myself. I'm not sure if a mod helps though... because the agricultural demand disappears completely (there is no negative or positive demand at all). But it's worth a try I think...

    Take care my friend.

    - Phil

I think you've found some very rare evidence of the widely speculated NAM-black hole! 22.gif

This could be an important contribution to the search for the missing matter in the universe! 49.gif And to think - the whole time it was right here in your CJ! This is great... (BTW - nice pictures too). 2.gif

Wow John, closing in on 60 pages....that in itself is pretty impressive.  Great update here.  You have shown us that not only can you develop larger more dense areas, but the small rural areas as well.  I really like how the homes are built into the hillsides here.  You really did a great job of conforming to the terrain.  I must also say congrats to Jacky for achieving Sainthood...12.gif

The only thing I noticed that seemed out of place were all the buses moving through the area....seemed a bit odd....

Thanks for showing the in game pics of Peterson Tool...I did notice thought that you seem to be missing a plugin there pal.  The trailers sitting in the docks as well as the one that is suppposed to be hooked up to the tractor there.  The prop pack you are missing is Industrial Props Pack .  Again, thanks for showing it off....I know we both appreciate it....

Enjoy the upcoming weekend my friend.

Salut, John - I asked also in Developing Macedon CJ and now I notice that Anduin Valley too has a very large density and variation of trees growing along the streets. How do you do it? If I make my city cartiers 6 squares by 6 squares I only get maybe 3 trees growing on each cartier. Below are examples of what I ask:

    TO ALL
My answers will be short today, as I don't have that much time, but please know that I appreciate all your comments!

And I'll probably be absent for a week or so, so next updates will probably be on the 21st of november. Thanks for your patience.

Don't mention it, glad to help!
If I do another CJ, I'll surely do as Jeroni, and have a first post that'll contain all the links people ask for.

It was a pleasure my friend, and you were right it was the perfect place to use it! As for the ag. demand I am using the increase demand mod, but even with it, it stays at zero.
    Take care my friend

Glad to see you mayormommy, as for the mod see my reply to Jason, suggestion well taken about the bigger lots, and the one about not watering the res sector, good thinking I'll try that in my new city, and this time agriculture will be the first thing to be developped!
    Thanks for your suggestions!

    John,

First off my friend I must say...I just love the effects that you are putting on this round of photos.  I know the time it takes to work with the photos to begin with, but to add the extra effects is certainly great.  First rate job! 16.gif

Now...about that liquor store...if possible, despite my stature in your various cities as an ambassador and a citizen ( 9.gif ) I would like a part-time job in this liquor store.  Now, I should like to negotiate my salary...I prefer to be paid in trade...that is to say whatever I would normally make on a paycheck, I should like to take that much liquor out of the store each week. 11.gif17.gif2.gif

I like that church as well...wow, how blasphemous is that...talking about working at a liquor store and then saying I like the church in the pics! 17.gif  I'm going to hell for that one! 2.gif11.gif  Anyway...it looks good the way you tied your area in to it...I would only suggest instead of a path on the church lot dead-ending at a parking lot I would probably have put a T piece in the parking lot to tie it all together.

I also like the Ugly Twins as well...great development you are getting here.  As for the farms...I know it is difficult and usually an after thought but try developing the farms first and then doing your commercial.  Just a thought...I'm sure Dan, the king of farming, can give you more pointers. 2.gif

Overall great work...can't wait for more... keep em coming... 44.gif

Nice weather effects! 6.gif I like the church too, and the liquor store (which reminds me to stock up for the weekend!). The twins remind me a Communist-era building called the Hotel Thermal in spa town of Carlsbad in the Czech Republic. It was nicknamed The Thumb for the way it sticks out in an otherwise quaint low-rise town. Once there's some more development around the twins I think they'll blend in a little better. 2.gif

Well, at least, it's rained in the city, rather than being all dry (you know what happens if it doesn't rain for quite a while.). 3.gif
