As for the picture, just get yourself a flashlight, or sparkler (like seen in my image) and start drawing. This technique has been around for quite some time. The most famous of these would be Picasso's image of him drawing a bull with a flashllight, very cool. I can't find any linkage at this exact moment but if someone would post a link if they know what i'm talking about I would be greatly appreciative.
