LOL.. well that's all well and good.. perhaps I may ask then why give a wrong answer to something you don't know about?  I don't care for the monorail much myself and rarely use it, but I do know how it works before I post on it..    4.gif

okay, okay, okay, the first time that I used it I wanted a tunnel, it did the full track over the mountain, that is why I posted that (note, this was a big jagged mountain)

What's the most realistic way to lay out the rail? I'm guessing it has to be relatively straight, and go through many regions.

Hey there! Well, just wanna say this mod is awesome. I installed it a few days ago and it's become one of the main transportation systems in my cities. I only have one question... will there be greater capacity stations in the final release? Most of my stations are used beyond their capacity, well, most of 'em actually, which decreases the quality of the service. Most of them are used at 400% and even 500%!! thanks a lot for making this and keep up the good work.

p.s. I do not want to build HSR hubs all over 'coz that doesn't seem realistic

As far as I know, any monorail station on the STEX should be compatible with the HSRP. It won't necessarily look very nice, but I don't see why it wouldn't be functional.

Hmmm.. well this I don't think is the image "envisioned" by the folk trying to develope this.. It is really aimed at intercity transportation, not a bunch of stations on a single map.. There are several other modes of transport that supplement HSR and should be used in a given city square.. The HSR should be designed to run from city tile to city tile for long distance travel.. This was the point of the survey at the top of this topic.. Most people want travel between multi-city squares.. It really is rather poorly designed for short hops.. I use rail, EL, highways etc for travel within a given sity square.

Of course you can mod a station to give any traffic volume max that you wish. But I think what you are doing is just making up for poorly designed mass transit. And if you are getting over 50000 passengers between cities, you might want to see why the people are leaving their home cities.

Thanks SC4BOY. You're right about what you said, and believe me, I don't have HSR stations every where. My current focus is to develop an efficient mass transit system. I only have 2 cities in my region. One has around 570,000 people (Coffs Harbor) and the other one some 170,000 (Brenton). In the first city I have a HSR hub and 4 stations and in the latter I built 4 stations. I also have buses, GLR, rail, highways and what not, but still, my stations are being overused. The funny thing is that most of my commuters go from Brenton to Coffs Harbor, and Brenton has a way higher average income per sim. Well, if as Barf said, any monorail station would do it, I'll try and see if that works. I just think there should be stations with greater capacity but I might have not grasped the vision of the developers, as you said.

I can't seem to get anyone to ride it!? I checked the tracks for breaks because they are easy to miss, but maybe I just haven't expanded it enough yet.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

hsrp1.JPG

They use bus and passenger rail, but not HSR,  If I get rid of the rail...

hsrp2.JPG

nothing!
