    this is quite cool, but i think it would be better if this will be moved to the cj section...

    anyways, to answer your questions:
    it is not bad work. and i think your kinda proud of it.
    but i (if i where you), would, what i propose allmost everywhere, i think i should get money for advertising, well i would download the columbus terrain mod and the nam (here on the stex), both will boost the realism... optical realism.

    yet another thing i would suggest doing is to keep a little ... ok, rather big eye on the terrain and it's form. why?
    lets take the screenshot with the beaches.
    concerning the layouting work there is nothing bad about it, but i think you would agree if i say that it looks kinda horrible with those extreem high walls because the buildings are not terrain conforming....1.gif
    ok, i know the map cause i'm building it too and especially the shorelines are very steap. I think you would be doing better terraforming them before building something alongside of the coast... but do as you want, it's your work, not mine 2.gif

    well, i think this is all i can say at the moment.
    lets see how you let things develop...

  • Thanks for the input, the coast is pretty steep, I might obliterate the cities and heed your advice and terraform a little, I was just playing around with the region and wanted a little feedback, perhaps I will start a CJ on though, because I love the region, I think its great.

    Hey man, nice job! One thing I could add, though: keep your pics under 800x600 or a moderator will delete it. Otherwise, your CJ is pretty cool! 44.gif

    Most things have been said I guess but let me repeat:
    Keep pics to 800*600 or below or they will be deleted. This is an iron rule and not to be discussed at all!

    About your region: Looks good. About the NAM I go 100% with GMT. You might add the bridge height mod from the mod section and a slope mod. I personally use the original (and a bit drastic) BRF TunnelAnd Slope mod, it is a bit hard to find but you'll find a link to it on page 7 or 8 of my CJ. Or make a search on the STEX, there should be some others by now.
    With a slope mod you'll get way smoother traffic ways (streets, road, railways, highways, avenues) and you are able to make smooth slopes on your landscape.
    GMT told you to work with the terrain. Again I think he is 100% right. use the slopes, woth with them but not against them or download some nice reatining walls and make terraces.
    I see you use mainly the elavated highway. I prefer the ground highway. Again: hava look on the STEX and you'll find a lot of nice stuff to get the highway under normal terrain niveau. make tunnels as small bridges or use the NAM. And if you want to have the highway erased build a small dam. You will see the ground highway is not only cheaper but also more useable when you terraform a bit.

    Hope I didn't frustrate but injected some inspirations.

  • I began the FF7 region, masterfully crafted by lightwarriork, and was just looking for comments, suggestions, helpful criticisms, etc.  The only cheat I've used is the you don't deserve cheat to place certain buildings in my city that I would otherwise be unalbe to place.

    Here is an overview of the eastern continent.  Visible is Chocobo Farm, Fort Condor (which is the largest city thus far, but soon to be dwarfed by Midgar) and Junon which is in its early stages of development.

    Here is a shot of the Western Continent, the only city thus far is Costa Del Sol

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/final%20fantasy%20vii-1140303283.jpg align=baseline>

    Now for some close ups

    Fort Condor is currently the largest city in the region.  It houses middle and lower class sims as well as a small sector of industry.  It is the educational center of the region but will be threatened by Midgar once that project is begun.   Fort Condor also is regional command center for the Soldier army as well as the Air Force.

    The industrial center of Fort Condor, there is mostly manufacturing industry as well as a few dirty industries.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/fort%20condor-dec.%203,%20251140306454.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is the area in the northeast part of town which has become quite affluent

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/fort%20condor-nov.%2029,%20251140306412.jpg align=baseline>

    Lastly, here is Fort Condor, the military installation for which the city is named

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/fort%20condor-dec.%206,%20251140306476.jpg align=baseline>

    Junon is the major industrial center of the region as well as the home of the nations Naval Headquarters.  The city is mostly occupied by military families although a number of civilians live in the eastern part of the town.  Unfortunately, pollution is above normal for the city though the leaders here are trying to promote cleaner industry to replace the dirty industry.

    Here are some pictures of Junon starting with the residential sector, this is the eastern portion where civilians live.

    Here is the seaport and a small naval base (which is going to be growing immensely)  Thanks to pegasus for these awesome BAT's.  Directly to the south is military housing which is out of view of this shot.

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/junon-oct.%2016,%20051140305480.jpg align=baseline>

    Finally here are pictures of Costa Del Sol, my favorite city so far, Costa Del Sol is home to many wealthy Sims as well as being the entertainment mecca of the region.  Thanks to ripptide for the awesome BATS.

    Costa Del Sol prides itself on having very low pollution and uses wind power to power itself
    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/costa%20del%20sol-oct.%2011,%20141140307763.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is the south end of town including the southside beaches

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/costa%20del%20sol-oct.%2015,%20141140307781.jpg align=baseline>

    Here is the downtown section of the city

    <ahttp://www.imgcity.net/server/primary/costa%20del%20sol-oct.%2020,%20141140307809.jpg align=baseline>

    Finally here is where all the action is, on the section of town I call East Pointe, one can see the casino, resort hotels, spas and parks, just to the southwest of here are the East Side Beaches which you can see in the bottom of the shot.

    Please keep all pictures at 800x60, or less. thank you. Mr. C.

    Any comments are encouraged and appreciated!  Hope you like it and thanks!

  • Thanks for all the feedback, I'll be sure to make my future pics 800x600.  This is why I put this up here, to find all the different mods and things that can make the region more realistic.  Again, thank you for the tips, perhaps I'll start a CJ once I download all these recommended mods.

    Reminds me a little of my first works....

    In the day I started my region I did however pay more mind on the terrain then anything else.I also kinda kept it on a grd like network and tryed hard to keep it realistic.To bad back then I had no downloads,but I still had quite a nice city.

    I think with a few downloads and a day or two of terraforming you may have something that will not only wow yourself,but will also wow us too!
