How about that, it took the "revealing" to make the conclusion of Baltar's trial seem actually anticlimatic.  10.gif  Outside of the Adamas and Roslyn themselves, the writers did pick out the least likely potential Cylons, especially Tighe.

That's good news about a full renewal.  I was afraid that "Finding Earth" would mean the show's conclusion.  Season 4, imagine that.  But I still wouldn't mind if the episodes ran consecutvely through this time though.

Meanwhile as we wait (at least for me)... there's still always Smallville (trust me, EB, it's every bit the soap opera that BSG is (and BSG is a soap opera!, that's part of it's appeal) ) with all of it's adult plot twists and turns, and surprise endings, and character development, just like BSG and no longer the "teen angst hero meets meteor rock freak of the week" show that it started out as.

Think smallvill is too far along to catch  up now.

Dr Who is on reruns on PBS now. And new ones on Sci fi pretty soon too.
Reno 911 should be starting up soon and  new Mind of Mencia starts sunday.
May start dresdon files since they dont seem to interconected episodes yet.( only seen 2)

mabey someone will repeat Highlander or Babylon 5 for me.

Hey, I didn't watch my first show until mid way through the third season with the Christopher Reeves episode.  That's where Clark first actually learns that he is an extraterrestial.  The episode stayed on the science fiction aspect and it hooked me.   And I kept watching,  again just like BSG, trying to figure out what happens next, in this case when Clark Kent actually becomes Superman  and when Lex Luthor, who started out as a nice guy, becomes a super villian.  They still aren't there yet.  Of course the big difference though is that we know their destinies, but with the BSG writers, anything can happen!

Meanwhile we still got the last SG-1 episodes coming!  And I presume the latest season of Dr. Who in the States.  Maybe the Sci-Fi channel will come up w/ something new that's cool.

It's rather strange how they all came to the automatic conclusion that they are Cylons when they came together because of the music. If that were to happen to me, I would assume that someone was playing loud rap music with everyone else trying to figure out what it was as well...

As for the very last scene with Earth... I noticed that they left a blue nebula and entered it again where Earth was. Odd.

Basically we're keeping the thread fr going to the archives while we wait for a year! Whether or not they meet BSG standards there's still arguably lots of good shows still going on, at least for us who like science fiction/fantasy on the small screen.

Well, since we don't have anymore episodes until a long time from now, I guess for the only direct way for this to stay alive is to discuss the background info about Galactica that will probably be shown on the main website (that I never visit 3.gif  ) and maybe a few teaser commercials/shows on the Sci-fi Channel that will probably show scenes from season 4 later in the year... also, there's always the behind-the-scenes and commentary from the actors/actresses. Besides that, all I can think of is maybe talking about Dr. Who or Stargate.

It's a shame that Stargate: SG-1 is ending. 15.gif Jack shouldn't have left.

I think Jack's leaving was SG-1's shark jump. I wish he and Samantha had gotten together. He's on Atlantis though.

There's also Heroes which seems to a mainstream following on NBC. I still hope to convert a person or two to Smallville. 2.gif

    Could talk about Star Wars.....

Didn't mean to have a pop at Dr Who, just think it is typically sub-standard and exactly what I expect from home-made Sci-Fi. BBC so clueless. 'Life On Mars' being another fine example, and that other crazy thing called 'Torchwood' or something. The production manager clearly asked for change from a tenner on that one.

Dr Who is only sub-standard if you have the wrong expectations of it. It's never advertised itself as a serious science fiction show, it's just fun. You are kind of missing the point if you rag on Dr Who for not being up to Sci-Fi standard. From the top of my mind it's featured:

    1. Killer Christmas trees and Santas.

    2. Queen Victoria, fighting a werewolf.

    3. Charles Dickens, fighting ghosts.

    4. An Anne Robinson-bot, who pulverized weakest links by shooting them with a laser.

    And the list goes on.

The new Battlestar Galactica is much more of a drama in space then a standard Sci-Fi show. I dislike a lot of sci-fi because it takes itself far too serious, far too often. BSG doesn't have that problem. (Nor did Firefly)

I wouldn't call Life On Mars typical sci-fi, but I suppose you could call it that. What's wrong with it?

As for Torchwood. Well, yeah. It had some cool moments, but plenty of horrible, cringe worthy ones as well. 3.gif

    What's this Heroes show about?

On a Battlestar Galactica related note: A demo for Beyond the Red Line was released on Saturday.

What is Beyond the Red line you say? It's a BSG mod for the old Freespace 2.

    screen02.jpg

The demo features a training mission and a mini-campaign. You can find out how to join multiplayer games through their forums. It's all free so go check it out.44.gif

I really wish they would remake TIE Fighter. I had TIE Fighter Classic and it is one of my favorite games I have ever owned. Good times... Too bad it isn't compatible with any new computers.

Anyways, how the frack am I suppose to wait till 2008! It's SO FAR AWAY! I guess the new episodes of SG1 and SGA will help comfort me in the mean time, though knowing the impending doom of the SG1 show is also a downer.

I had a thought about what will happen when they reach earth.

what time period will it be?

Will the see dinosaurs? or Will Neil Armstrong wave to them as he goes by?

or some futuristic Earth? or will they finaly find the mechanical cylons we have all been waiting for?

    Whis i had a script   49.gif

Well I remember seeing a few episodes of the original BSG and Earth was set during modern times (so the 70s). I remember how they had children from the fleet go onto Earth and since the ships gravity plates (or whatever they're called) were set at a strength much greater than Earth the kids could jump 40 feet in the air. (They played a "boing" sound effect whenever the kids jumped... really cheesy lol). The adults also told the kids not to show off to Earth children. Now for the re-imagined series, I wonder too what year Earth will be in. As long as there aren't kids jumping 40 feet into the air...

Well, even if it is set in modern times, it will really be awful for the Cylons and refugees since we aren't nearly as technologically advanced as either of them are.

One other thing we may have neglected If Chief is a cylon

then there are at least two known Human-Cylon hybrids now (the Chief and Cally do have a child, you know).

Yeah, I picked up on that one too. Also, I wonder what role Hera is going to play. They always advertised Hera as "the shape of things to come".
