Hey now, everyone!  I'm back again after a short absence.  I'm sure at least beebs thought I'd dropped off the face of the earth after Thursday night.  Nope - my browser was giving me some problems, and I couldn't get to ST.  That's also the reason that the Trivia King hasn't shown up at the NHL Trivia thread lately. 3.gif

beebs:  You should see my desktop right about now.  Where I usually put the Sabres' next game, there's an Oilers logo there.  It says " GO OIL GO ".  And the 'Canes logo is my full Recycle Bin logo.  4.gif

It wasn't your internet, the site was down. I think that thing let off an EM pulse when it destroyed the robots.

I find this picture so funny I think it should become the official Moderator's warning pic. It was made by Boggy.

    Hi, Ryan.

I'd be right careful 'bout the way you speak of the 'Canes, my friend.  You can expect the cup to have a new house very soon.

^ Bluegrass?  Isn't that the wrong state?  Vandy lives in NC.

Anyway, the bar is serving large slices of humble pie to Oiler's fans tonight.  Let us pray our sacrifice will appease the gods of hockey and save our boys from more defeats by the big wind from the south.

Wait a tick? Cotton Eyed Joe is bluegrass? All I know is that most every NHL arena plays it as a pump-up song. I figured it'd make a good goal song. I'm making a Dallas horn featuring " The Stars At Night Are Big And Bright . . . Deep In The Heart Of Texas! " and a Atlanta horn featuring " The Devil Went Down to Georgia ".

beebs- Cotton Eye Joe is a fun line dance. I just did that with about twenty other people last Friday night. Oddly enough, nineteen of them were women, and of course I ended up being the only male. But hey, the dance is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed m'self while participating.

You guys realise it was made from a group from Sweden (Rednex), right?

beebs: served.  We are now in adverse conditions.  Canadians do well in adverse conditions.  Don't hold breath.

ryanb_sc4:  Well, it sure sounded that way to me.

The last mention of cotton-eyed Joe I remember is the the lyric to The Gandy Dancers' Ball where there is a line

    '...and good ol' cotton-eyed Joe'

Where I come from ( yes, both Texas and Buffalo, NY ), line dancing is very popular. Cotton Eyed Joe is easily the most popular tune played at my high school's dances. And I'm willing to put money down that it will be the most popular tune at the prom this year. Why, I'll be surprised if it isn't the prom song . . . . . . .

Holy cow, I need a meal. Hockey practice makes you hungry. How about some chicken Parmesean, with some butter noodles and a glass of llama milk? That'd hit the spot.

Can I have one ton of gelatin loaded into the trunk of my vehicle? I need it to trap somebody in.

Just use some tire sealant. Dries quicker, and sticks to the body better.

But I wouldn't know anything about that...

Nah, I don't want to entrap him permanently. Just keep 'em in a room by themselves long enough for the gelatin to harden so he can try to dig his way out. 3.gif

    Announcement

I am going to be away for 8 days starting Sunday, June 11th.  We are going to New Brunswick, the land of the Moose and Bear (and east coast salmon) looking for new digs.  If all goes well we'll be moving down there.

    Autosystem !  Full Automatic!

    beebs:  Then just don't watch.

ryanb_sc4Done, and done.  Enjoy.  Now if you were old enough, a nice glass of Barbara would go good with that.  (see red wines of Italy).

General Gunfire:  Hey!  Long time no see.  Welcome back!  Food service complete.  Heard anything lately from Colonel Korn or Major Folley?  Sealed anyone up lately?  Crooked union bosses, perhaps?

DP:  Here is enough gelatine powder to handle that.  Just mix it up with 1,000 litres of hot water and stir well.  There is an immersion heater attached to the hydrant, outside.  I assume he will have to eat his way out, so would you like that flavoured?  Goalie sweat, perhaps?

*After seeing the food come, Lauren also orders some Muphridish food.*
