Zelgadis, how can you not like foamy beer?  The foam is as important as the beer itself.  Actually, I wouldn't know about that but I have seen guys turn down beer that didn't foam.

A podcast is a like a radio show, or, something, saved to a file so you can listen to it on the computer. It's like a website's newshour thing. Kinda..

On blogs, they're used to get the persons ego across by sound as well as text.

@ zelgadis: As you know, if you name your poison the autosystem will teleport it in if it is not on hand. Want another Rikards? No matter where you roam, good beer has some foam.

@Eastwinn: Tip? You mean like in that's a long way to tip a raree?

    @nealos101: I don't know how he'd know, they've never met in person, I think.

@ hym: Video game? Why don't you just go out and run around in the traffic for a while. You need to get away from the [deity] [expletive deleted] noisy box. I think zelgadis was referring to that contaminated yellow water you guys call beer.

It's been a few days since I was in here last.  Guiness please.

There has been a lot going on in this bar since I was last here.

I had to take a small trip down to Austin, TX and back home.  I just had to be here for tomorrow.  Check the link in my sig to find out why.39.gif'); height=30 alt=Insert smilie 39.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/39.gif width=20 border=0>39.gif'); height=30 alt=Insert smilie 39.gif src=https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/39.gif width=20 border=0>

@ Leech10: The walls stay the same colour. No matter that the zukes fling food at them off spoons, the self-cleaning coating on the walls reduces foreign substances to harmless, gaseous molecules. Probably would even reduce a zuke spattered on the wall if it stayed in contact long enough.

@zelgadis: I don't know why you would think that. Getting the first post on a page is just (bad/good) luck. If I notice, I'll comment.

@Truckin_Papa: Well, that is good news. You should look at my last post in that thread. Maybe the two of you could come together.

Actually, running around in traffic wouldn't be that suitable of an alternative as my computer is relatively quiet (that and my mom would have a heart attack if I got out in traffic).

@hym:  What I said is that American beer is like foamy water.  I'm all for foamy beer.  It's just that the major American breweries have hardly any flavor at all.

Well, I can't argue about that as I've never tasted beer before.  I would have changed my previous post to say How can you not like American beer; it has the most foam? however, my internet was going so slowly that I didn't feel like changing it (had it been moving a little faster I would have corrected my post).

    Hi everyone,

Yes, it's a kind of return for me... I see that someone else is exploiting the Guinness' strategic reserve of Moose Factory. I hope you have good relationship with Dublin N_O_Body... Sending an official ambassor should be a nice move. I met some Irish ST members that would gladly do it.

A Guinness without foam is simply not a Guinness... Texture is important and I would not drink it without foam.

BTW, we should organize a welcome back party here for MsD...

When I saw that, my first thought has been for N_O_Body...

@zmveliger: ROFLMAO! Where was that published? It should be made into a sticker and pasted on all his campaign signs in this riding. Do you think he might lose his seat, there in that safe Liberal riding in Montreal?

I posted a party invite for MsD on the get well thread. Everyone is welcome. Party on the Factory.

MsD should be resting at home today.

I've gotten my first small taste of Canadian politics over the last few days. And I thought Canadians were supposed to be polite and stuff... 2.gif

And here I thought Kentucky politics was a total mudbath...

I now know which political party I'd be a member of if I could vote. That much is clear to me now. However, I shan't be getting into that here, of course.

I'll have a Grand Marnier, please.

^ One Grand Marnier served in a heated snifter We have some fresh strawberries to go with that if you like.

Politics? You ain't seen nothing yet. Steven's offer to cut the GST will have great impact because it means less after tax money goes to things you actually buy. This is very personal.

Paul's income tax cuts are actually invisible, so they really don't have the impact he would hope.

As for Smilin' Jack and the rest, every system has worms.

I learned a suprising thing today:  THERE IS JUSTICE IN THIS WORLD!

Long story, but here's the gist:

There are a lot of homophobic kids in my school.  Given where we are, with our host of 'rednecks' that's to be expected.  This one in particular - Ryan - is one of those kids for whom anything he doesn't like or fears is 'gay'.  So, if you piss him off, usually you get called a 'fag' or gay, or whatever the term of the day for homosexuality is.

So, one day last week, Ryan started in on one of the more openly gay kids at school.  Well, this kid decided he'd had enough.  I wasn't there to see the fight, but Ryan, well... got the living s*** beat out of him.

And the kicker?  Ryan came back today.  He's in my Technical Drafting class, and he's been tormented all day about what happened.  He's quickly finding out that he doesn't have any friends anymore.

One part of me feels sorry for him, the rest is rolling around laughing.

IDK.... it makes me feel good when an a**hole gets what he deserves....

Yes, yes, not exactly written in the spirit of tolerence, but, hey.

    Party here? Great.

We need some decoration. Champagne, real one. Veuve Cliquot or Dom Perignon should be nice. What about music. A little live orchestra, a jazz band or something else? I'm offering to play a little tama, the singing drum typical from Senegal. What else? Fireworks? Military parade? Belly dance (29.gif)?

@ vidioman: Here's your cookie. If you look around, the man from glad is over there having a carnal conversation with the girl from depressed.

@Compromise: A Canadian election is rather like mud wrestling with three main particpants and some local talent. So far, the Conservatives are ahead because the GST cut puts money in everyone's pockets without exception.

@ACEfanatic: Deservedly so. Isn't it interesting what a set of fair-weather friends he had. I assume you are in the excited states, because that kind of behaviour here in Canada would have got him taken out behind the shed long before this.

@Truckin_Papa: Whoo-hoo. Well be looking for both of you! ZMV seems to be making party plans.

@zmveliger: It'll be Veuve Cliquot. We had it at my wedding. Dom Perignon is vastly over-rated. We'll have a the MSO in for this doing the On the Trail movement from the Grand Canyon Suite as entry music, followed by Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance Number 4, I think. That should get everyone seated. We'll get Leech10 to have the zukes fly past below the sound barrier, and trailing coloured smoke. After that, the autosystem will just help us mix.

@ Leech10: We need you to call the zukes to order. We need a formal fly-past tomorrow with full honours for MsD.

BTW, we should have a very fancy non alcoholic drink for those under 18/21 and maybe MsD. Getting drunk with Champagne is not the best thing to do after such a surgery... Truckin_Papa and me should take Guinness (and Champagne too29.gif). Veuve Cliquot is Winston's choice...

Cheese, really important. If something is missing, just ask. Here we have one of the best variety of fine cheeses in North America. Coming from elsewhere but the local specialties are spectacular (in quality, not quantity). Raw milk is not forbidden here...

Regarding music, Elgar's not bad at all. Radetzky march is great too. We'll keep them both.

Welcome to Virginia.  Land of the rednecks.  (FYI - Rednecks, by my definition, are country people who tend to violence, alcohol and tobacco abuse, racial and other discrimination, etc...  Not a good lot.)

Even our government is so far to the Religious Right that '_____ are evil' (feel free to insert 'homosexuals', 'blacks', 'hispanics', etc.  they most all fit) may as well be the state motto.

That's the great thing about being athiest or agnostic... you can look at problems objectively.

Then again, anything liberal is.  Funnily enough, the more conservetive the government becomes, the more liberal my views....  Good lord - I may even vote Democrat in three years.

Though, even our Democrats are pretty conservetive....

What ever happened to actually governing a country/state/province/county/city/etc. ?  Now it's all just a bunch of BS... mostly religious.

Not bashing religion, by the way.  Just bashing politicians... (then again, for some people, politics is a religion) ... and my state.

Anyway... I still love Virginia, but it has it's faults...

Hi, are we ready? Thanks Voar Tok but blowing a jeep is not exactly what I had in mind. BTW, it reminds me a tragic accident that happened earlier this week not far from here. An adept of car tuning installed himself a device increasing the power of the engine on his car. He took all is information... on the internet. When he started his car after work, it flew high in the air. How much? Difficult to tell... but the car landed more than 100 METERS away (no tornado nor hurricane, not even wind), killing the poor guy...

@ACEfanatic: the point your rising is too interesting. Religion and politics is a very dangerous mix, I can't agree more than that. However, I don't think that being atheist or agnostic is not necessary to be objective. I lived several months in a 60% Muslim and 40% Christian community. Both church and mosque were very busy places, people were strong believers. Despite that, the community was one, they even share the same cemetery. Everyone is celebrating Christmas, Korite, Easter and Tabaski. It was more than acceptation and it was easy to feel in everyday life.

The difference is that these people do believe in God itself. They are not following blindly a religion, which is a human invention. Unfortunately, like the vast majority of human organisations, some people are using them to gain power, influence, money, prestige... Following blindly is to be close minded. Being close minded leads to racism, fanaticism, terrorism, war, intolerance, arbitrary decision of what is good and what is bad...

The most paradoxical thing is that when you look the message of the Bible, the Quran, the Tora, even some asians cults, the message at the core is quite similar: peace, accepting the others, love, helping the poor ones, sharing... So using God to justify violation of these fundamental values just gives an idea how that message has been twisted. Unfortunately, the most powerful country on the planet actually is one of them. It's not a surprise then if the global state of humanity is declining fast.

People here can disagree with me but people paying the price usually don't have the luxury of Internet connection, SimCity game or even education to read our posts. BTW, Democrats or Replubicans, it's almost the same. Their singing the same song but on different tunes (and sometimes the same one).

    OK, let's resume party preparation...
