Hummm... what can I say apart from perfect? 41.gif

How did you make those seatings? Is each seat modeled?

And once again very good work.

the landmark version will come first

the mcg is slowly progressing (don't wait on me though)

anfield is almost done, just need to make the gates; i'll post a preview after the game.

if ac miland or inter milan win tonight (hopefully) i'll make san siro (the first request i got and a landmark stadium)

btw, Liverpool won 3-1 and Real Madrid won 1-0 44.gif

(sorry not to go in detail, i'm in a hurry to watch the game).

edit: what is up with the huge spacing?

I can't wait for your next preview!

Inter is leading 1-0, so I assume that's a good news regarding San Siro...

Wow JEC, that's awesome[:0]. I live on the other side of the river from that place too18.gif.

I showed my brother [a die-hard LFC fan] that pic, and he says it's perfect apart from the pitch. He says it needs a little bit darker, but worn and lighter in the middle. Just what he says, take it on or leave it be, I'll be downloading it.

Keep up this awesome work you're doing, I can't wait for more.44.gif

    Forza Milan!!!

AC Milan won 1-0 over Manchester United, away

Inter Drawed to the reigning champions, away

so expect a preview of San Siro

i have been experimenting with the nitelighting (even though i still have some modelling to do):

here is the day with a darker pitch (if it makes a difference, btw i'm not sure how i would make the middle lighter and worn without having to create a large texture to fill the entire pitch)

    <ahttp://picturehosting.simvision.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=2032 align=baseline>

here it is at nite (possibly)

    <ahttp://picturehosting.simvision.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=2033 align=baseline>

personally i think it is a bit bright for the render, but maybe in game it will differ. it was either not bright enough or too bright, i can't seem to get it in between. keep in mind also that both renders were done on draft (still took a lot of time too).

btw timo, all the seats were modelled, that's how i made the letters.

thanks everyone, and there is a possibility for old trafford, i actually started modelling it to try out my new method of seating, but i decided to go for l'pool instead.

and of course i still have to finish the other stadiums.

Wow JEC, that's a million times better already! You can ignore the worn bit. I think it makes the pitch look bad, being all old and worn etc. But hey, that's what brothers are for30.gif...

    Keep up the awesome job!!

Yea, I'm going to have to download all of these stadiums. I'm really impressed. I've been wanting more stadiums than what came with the game...wow.

I do have this little ridiculous wish-list, however. My cities are really dense...not much room for them. I wonder if you could combine a stadium with 2 rail lines running underneath it, and make it a combined stadium/rail station...?
    That would be

yes, the Bernabeu (of course) has been on the stex for a bit, but none of the newer ones are ready yet.

both milan teams have good chances, inter was undefeated until the last draw against the champions, but i would really like for Real Madrid to win (of course), but even if barca wins, it's still a spanish team so i wouldn't be so dissapointed (i still prefer inter though).

anyways, i tried a draft export of anfield...and i didn't get error 6 like i usually do, but it is taking forever. i have an extra 512 mb of ram on my desk, BUT for some reason it doesn't fit. when i compared it to the other pieces of ram, the indention in the middle is a couple of millimeters off (and i did put it in the right way). does anyone know if i can get around this or why it is like this?

zilfondel, a railway would be more complicated. the only stadium i know that acts as a rail (actually a tram) station will be the new stadium in Zurich for the Euro. however, i'm not sure if i could do that, unless i make a unique stadium. subway on the other hand is possible, but with only one line, not two.

oh, and should i alter the lods to have the pitch capable of placing player props on it. the problem is that i can't have anyone in the seats, so it may look strange.

    You're always looking for perfection!
But in my opinion it is not necessary to spend too much efforts on small details, because they're not so visible ingame... I guess custom lods would make renders slower...

Having players on the ground would be really cool, but too complicated.

Something tells me you're gonna make it anyway! And that would be cool as well!

Good to see the Rugby stadium on the STEX that should keep a lot of people happy.

Did you watch the Chelsea v Liverpool game? What was Mourinho doing????

Chelsea's Jose Mourinho criticised the media after seeing his side win the Carling Cup 3-2 against Liverpool, his first trophy in English football. Mourinho was sent off for pressing his finger to his lips after Chelsea's equaliser, but he said the gesture was not aimed at Liverpool fans. The signal of close your mouth was not for them but for the press, he said.

They speak too much and in my opinion they try to do everything to disturb Chelsea. Wait, don't speak too soon.  (From BBC sport)

Of course you were aiming it at the fans Jose, of course not28.gif

i have been living in the states for a while, so the only games i can see are of manchester united in the champions league.

but i did see some replays and a recap. i can't believe gerrard headed into his own goal. and mourinho was sent off, he's a coach.

he should have had more class; now he's has a champions league win (with fc porto) and a carling cup, in in two years.

i wanted liverpool to win that, but oh well.

i'm more upset that Real Madrid lost 2-0 to Deportivo, Inter Milano lost for the first time this season, Lyon strenghtened their lead over Marseille.

btw, the rugby stadium is timo's, not mine. i want to make murrayfield, but i can't find enough information.

now for some news about san siro. i think i put WAY too much detail into the roof, so i need to alter it a bit. i also decided to work on an easier and smaller scale for the seating. the Stade Velodrome in Marsaille has similar seating (the ones without backrests), but it does not have any curved seating to make it easier. the pitch is also a bit similar as well. so i'll test out the ploy count for the seating and the size for reference. i'll post a picture when i get home of the Stade Velodrome.

ryan, the information on that site is all i need for it, but i am going to wait to see who actually wins the bid because the london olympic stadium is quite impressive.

but, i need some help. i am on the 5th day of exporting on draft, and currently it is still only on zoom 2 east, day. i'm guessing it will be finished tomorrow night.

i don't understand this because i have exported buildings with five times the poly count and twice the size and managed to export on HIGH within a day, plus i even removed the seating because i wanted to test out the custom lods, night lighting and textures, to see if it fits well in game.

i really hope there isn't any problems because I really do not want to have to wait a week just to test it for a couple of minutes.

So, if there is a solution to this that will be fantastic (i have to wait until it finishes rendering before i can try again to place an extra piece of 512MB of RAM: there is another thread pertaining to this issue in th etechnical section), but if not i will probably need someone else to export this for me (which i hate to do).

thanks for any replies, i am very irritated and desperate at this moment 32.gif32.gif42.gif42.gif44.gif

While working on my stadium, I could manage to experiment a bit about export... What are your comp' specs? 512ram but what CPU (I believe these are the two main parameters)?

Here is what hapened with me :

First, I exported on my laptop (512ram, P4 2.2), with no other program running, and this took about 17 hours.

Then, I had an opportunity to try on my bro's PC (512ram, P4 2.4.gif. So I did the same, and this took about 8 hours

So I agree with you, 1 week is way too much...7.gif

Both times I had to scale the stadium down (80 or 75%) to get rid of error #6...

    There weren't any nitelites.

The model was about 230 000 polys, and 15*18 tile2.

Hooray 44.gif, it finally stopped exporting, but...without exporting the whole building, stopped at 81%.

what a rest of 6 days.

anyways, i still got a lot done on my laptop; started stade velodrome, st. james park, and a bit of portman road (the most requested stadium apparently, but i still need an accurate seating plan).

once i transfer all the gmax files and merge it into the bat, i'll get a render of the velodrome and st. james.

    timo, i have a dell 4700 P4 3.0, 512 MB RAM.

with the seating it has 126,000 polys and smaller than yours, might be the nitelighting or custom lods (never worked with them before).

Your PC seems more than alright. So yeah, must be custom lods and night-lightning... Due to these outrageous rendering times, I'd try without.

So good luck for your next renders.

    any MCG news?
    quote>

Yeah. We really do need an AFL/cricket stadium. Even if it's something smaller, we need one. It's a gaping hole in the game.

the MCG, hmmm, i got a bit frustrated with the seats, so that is one of the reasons why i am making smaller stadiums without any curves in the seating plan, such as the Stade Velodrome:

    Attached

but, after looking at lots of videos and previews of the new stand, i still need some more time drawing it out to make sure i haven't missed anything. BUT, if you want a cricket ground, i was considering Lords.

I really should, however, finish SOMETHING.

Anfield try #2 will come shortly.

Oh, btw, i need some help from the tractor boys, if you know of an accurate seating plan, than i can get started, if not, higbury will be made for the smaller stadium (what am i doing, i seem to be starting so many stadiums now 42.gif).

Again a beautifull stadium! I agree with you; first finish something. Because there are so many stadiums in progress.
