Seeking help installing plugins on GOG version of SC4 Deluxe

Apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I wasn't able to see anything similar on other posts.

I'm running the GOG version of SimCity 4 and I'm trying to install two plugins (NAM and SC4 Fix) but neither seem to be appearing in-game.

I've run the JRE file in the NAM mod without issue.

Any suggestions on a solution would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

    Thanks.

I downloaded the file at the link you provided - I am not sure how to use the program to install NAM

Do you know what the issue I am experiencing might be caused by? Am I using the incorrect folder for plugins?

The plugins folder you screenshotted above is incorrect.  Use the one in the Documents library.  There should be a subfolder in your Documents called "SimCity 4" and within there is the plugins folder you should use, unless you did something odd with your configuration when installing the game.  You should move those folders out of the Program Files plugins folder since that's not correct.

Also, do not install DLLs in a subfolder of the Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.  DLL mods need to be in the main Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder.

If you ran its javascript installer, NAM would've installed into the Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins folder in a subdirectory.  Can you look there to see if it's inside?

Thanks - I've moved the folders to the SimCity 4 Plugins folder I found in Documents. I've tried running the game again but none of the plugins seem to be working.

I ran the Javascript instiller for NAM but I can't see any subdirectories in the plugins folder within documents.

I downloaded the game from GOG - not sure if this would be impacting my ability to get the plugins to run?

GOG is the very best version to get for ease of use. *:)

Are you using the offline installer for it? More specifically: Do not use their GOG Galaxy thinger. (It's fine for modern games, but wreaks havoc with older ones like SC4.)

Well, since you're using the right folder now and SC4Fix.DLL is there as it should be, that should at least be working (you don't need the SC4Fix empty folder anymore). You can see that if you minimize out of the game and hover over the window, it will show SC4Fix in the header.

However, since all you did is move your extracted NAM setup folder into the plugins, it's clear that the NAM was not installed.  The setup files should not be in your plugins folder, as they're only needed to actually install the NAM.  You should move them to a temporary folder somewhere else.  Then, to install the NAM, follow the installation instructions with the file called "read-first-NAM-49.html" or follow the detailed instructions here: https://www.sc4nam.com/docs/getting-started/installation/

You'll need Javascript (a free version is included as OpenJDK, or you can use the official Javascript), and you need to run the JAR file to install the Network Addon Mod.  Also very importantly, you'll need to apply the 4GB Patch to your SimCity executable file manually.

Reading the installation instructions is absolutely necessary and should've been done.  It would've answered all of your questions.
