Hello there!

I recently got some great help on this site with getting a graphics fix and have one more issue that I hope is an easy one.

My game is lagging a bit after downloading NAM. This is odd, because I know my laptop can handle SC4/NAM just fine. I got the game to use my stronger graphics card with Voodoo and much more visually demanding games are running smoothly. I feel like I remember downloading a fix for this from this site in the past. Anyone have any thoughts?

Graphics look great, just not running smoothly.

Thanks,

Gable

You need to perform NAM datpacking to reduce the workload that the game has to do

Follow this guide

Following the guide. I can't seem to open the DATpacker. Gives me this error:

    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File "datPacker.py", line 1, in ?
      File "datPackerApp.pyo", line 1, in ?
      File "wx\__init__.pyo", line 45, in ?
      File "wx\_core.pyo", line 4, in ?
      File "wx\_core_.pyo", line 12, in ?
File "wx\_core_.pyo", line 10, in __load
ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

So the next step was to download the three necessary DLL's, which I did, but I think I may have downloaded them in the wrong places? I put everything in the plugins folder, maybe that was dumb. I honestly don't know much about file organization, so that's probably the issue.

Those DLLs that are needed to make the program work should be installed inside the program's installation folder.

Ok that worked. Now the issue is that its only showing me one item to be compressed which is a STEX building I downloaded. I tried to focus it on the folder where all my NAM stuff is, but it still just shows that building.

Do the DATpacker and the NAM files need to be in the same folder?

Update: For some reason the Datpacker only senses a building I downloaded and not the rest of NAM. Maybe that's the only file that needs compressing? Seems unlikely.

You have to follow all the procedures that are given here for you to do the NAM Datpacking
