I am ready to move on for entering a funcional seaport in a big port recently started... i would like to help me choose which functional seaport should i use better...

I have read that Maxis seaport has some problems in its functionality , and also have read about BSC Functional seaports but i have never used that before..

perhaps is there any other custom functional seaport better to use ?

Thanx *:)

just another question , not to open a new post....

I have installed CAM and already have about 5.000 Citizens ....since now i have offered at least two rewards , but i dont find them in my rewards tab...any idea?  am i missing something?

Thanx once again !

Please note that there isn't really such a thing as a functional Seaport, they can accept freight generated by Industrial buildings, but due to bugs/unfinished code, it doesn't appear to translate into additional demand or cap relief. If you try to re-enable this feature which exists in the code, it doesn't work right and has been observed providing negative demand. In other words, beyond accepting freight there is currently no way to make Seaports function.

The CDK3 Seaport is just a Seaport, it doesn't need anything special to be compatible with CAM in the strictest sense. All growable lots, Res, Com, Ind have to be setup to work with CAM's adjusted settings. However one thing you may need to consider when using Services is whether or not they will have sufficient capacity in order to handle the often higher needs of a city made with CAM. For example, if using CAM you have a population that is 3x what it would be without CAM, you probably want to use modified Education/Health lots and anything else that has a finite capacity. In the same way, you might find the default capacities for the Seaport is not ideal for CAM if that has increased the job density of your Industrial areas.

However, all said and done, most seaports don't have higher capacities anyway, you can always build more than one (CDK-3) or mod the values. But you should probably avoid the BSC Seaports as they are known to be buggy, because they re-used the functions Maxis had deliberately disabled for the Retail release. Without considering why Maxis had done this, most likely because they knew it was broken in the game's code and couldn't easily fix it. So essentially these lots simply restore a bug in the game that Maxis had bypassed by redacting this functionality.

Thinking of this, I will consider offering some additional capacity versions of the CDK-3 Seaport as an update. Although I've done tests with Upgradeable Seaports for CDK-3 and they seem to work, so that might be another solution. That said, even then it may be useful to have a special CAM version with each stage given around 4x the Capacity of the regular seaports.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

do you mean i must find those growable lots when i start i new game with CAM ?  since now i know that i must find growable lots from the final stage of Maxis game and above ?

and finally...since there is no functional port for passengers , is there any even eye-candy lots to use , perhaps such as    https://community.simtropolis.com/files/file/27915-cruise-ship-terminal/

Not necessarily, the CAM mod comes with a set of reconfigured Maxis lots, so you should have the basics to start with at least. However any additional growable lots you add should have been designed to work with CAM and its new growth stages.

Both Passenger and Passenger and Car ferries exist and come with the base game, the CSK3 package contains a few too. These differ from the Cruise Ship terminal since that is really just eye candy although like a lot of rewards will probably provide a positive boost to some element of the game.
