Hi all,

I'm attempting to run Lot Editor on Mac, I have been able to use Wineskin Winery to run PIM-X and Ilive Reader but for unknown reasons, I cannot succeed with Lot Editor. I have also tried CrossOver and Porting Kit with no success. Has anyone else found a method to run Lot Editor?

Thanks,

Update:

After too many hours, I finally found a solution that works, virtual desktop software from: https://www.parallels.com
Using the free trial, I then downloaded and installed Steam, then SimCity 4 and finally the version of the Lot Editor found here: https://community.simtropolis.com/sc4-maxis-files/

Bear in mind that the Lot Editor like the game itself needs a renderer which by default is DirectX. Parallels does include support for that, because you are essentially running Windows. But the performance and quality of play will be limited in a Virtual OS, which is not ideal for playing in my experience. Personally I use the open source Virtual Box to run Win XP for all my SC4 tools under Catalina. So you don’t have to pay for Parallels, although some find the convenience worth it.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Thanks for the heads up. After I tried playing another classic (Command & Conquer Red Alert Remastered) on my Mac only to find the lag to be unbearable when having too many units (in multiplayer), I bit the bullet and treated myself to a Windows machine for Christmas!
