Good evening Guys,

I've been practicing the construction of real highway networks and I have to admit I have a real problem with the real highway... I mean RHW-4 network in particular.

In the picture below, I attempt to build an RHW so that unemployed Sims from the nearby residential zones can reach the jobs they need. I tried this already with RHW-6 and about 5000 sims have successfully used this highway to cross into another city and reach their workplaces.

However, when I rebuilt this network as an RHW-4, the entire scheme collapsed and the road has become totally deserted for some reason. As you can see, I use the neighbor connection tile, just like the manual instructs, in order to ensure proper functionality between the cities. I think there is no error here (it worked just fine for RHW-6 after all).

I also attach the picture of how the "receiving" end of the highway looks like. I know it looks a little dirty but, again, the same, exact makeshift entry / exit (abrupt end of the mainline + branch coming out of cosmetic extension) worked well with the RHW-6!

I'd like to ask for your help in determining what is the source of the problem here. I believe I keep missing some simple point that hides in plain sight. I presume this is due to my very basic knowledge regarding the RHW family and the mechanics of the ramps themselves...

Since you are running this type of configuration. Have you entered the Median Neighborhood Connector?  (You can do the test with the interogative button and using the DrawPaths cheat)

Oh dear... I didn't realize the median is necessary for this connection to work! :O I thought I only need to link up the road tiles...

Needless to say, it worked. Thanks!

These connections have also been documented in the NAM manual
