    November 1977

The demand for new better homes has increased over the last years, mainly due to Bounty Bank’s willingness to give credit with real-estate as security. Replacement of older apartment, with modern more solid and larger working-class apartments in Cepero Town is ongoing. High-class apartments have been built behind Saint Mary's Church. Also, a new high prestige mansion was erected at the corner of Park Road and North Harbor Road, in the heart of the Bounty City.

Brandon Clarke & Stephania Potalivo, Mar.1978

In 1968 then 23 years old Brandon Clarke had just left his parents David and Senna Clarke, to live with the older but very beautiful actress Stephania Potalivo. Since then, the couple has definitely climbed the social ladder. Today Brandon got a respectable position at the State Statistics Department. Stephania Potalivo a coveted character actor. The tiny social apartments from 68, have been replaced with a house in the central part of the city, at the corner of Maria Ruiz Road and The Donkey Curve. Hard to find a more expensive neighborhood, in todays marked. Brandon Clarke is 34 years old, Stephania Potalivo 42.

Also, Rubén Álvarez (The Right-Libertarians) passed away and was replaced by 75 years old Pedro Serrano, journalist wonder if he will survive the next 18 month. President Juan Pérez is now 70 years old, also he insists to run for another period. There is just 18 months to the next election, the latest opinion poll’s favor the sitting president J. Pérez.

The Workers Front with Tommaso Leone 24,8%

The Christian Democrats with Juan Pérez 25,9%

The Right-Libertarians with Pedro Serrano 25,1%

Nationalist Action with Alicja Schäfer 24,5%

The Workers Front have seen a further decline in popularity. Whereas The Christian Democrats and thereby the president has again found new voters. Although The Right-Libertarians is still the larger party at the right side, Nationalist Action seems to have regained momentum and stolen some if their voters.

    Federico Brissi & Nerea Sep.1978

Federico Brissi and his lover Nerea Serrano, has not married, neither did they get any children. They have been living their entire adult live, as day laborers at plantations and ranches on Cepero Island. They are now at their 40’s and seemingly going to continue that lifestyle. Few would envy them, but on the other hand, they seem to be happy with a simple life without commitments. Federico Brissi is the son of, today famous, Dr. Lorenzo Brissi, who implemented modern healthcare to Bounty Islands in the beginning of the 1920’s.

    Oct. 1978

The Government decided a few years back, to form a Council of the Districts, where important members from the different communities, would regularly meet to discuss and propose initiatives or regulations, that they would suggest to the Parliament. The council had its first meeting this month.

Sister Sullivan leader of The Order of Fen, was one of the five chosen members. It is not without its economic benefits to be a member of this exclusive club.

    Deaths in 1978

The number of private healthcare clinics, have not been able to keep up with the rising number in inhabitants on Bounty Islands. As a result, we see rising numbers of children not making it past their first years. In the families we follow, all adults made in through 1978 but 4 young children died. Worst of all was the Taka family, Heinrich Taka lost another two children. Out of the 5 pregnancies his wife had before she died in labor, only one child is alive. Shiko Taka died 3 years old, Tetsu Taka 5 years old.

Carlos Sanz son of Josefa Sanz, grandson of Greta Navarro, lost his just one year old son Pete Sanz. Laura Weber daughter of Josefa Sanz, granddaughter of Greta Navarro, lost her just one year old son Robert Weber.

    Cristina Leroy Family Apr.1979

After her husband Noddy Leroy, son of Arthur M. Leroy, died in 1964. Cristina Leroy, then a police officer, found new love in Alejandro García. In 1972 she lost her son Jon. Her 18 years old Son Ángel still lives in the household. Cristina Leroy quit the police in the mid 70’s to join the Army, now working at the military camp at the foot on the northern mountains in the outskirts of Presidente Jakubs District. The family lives in one of the two protected colonial ear homes, next to Fenna Chapel, prestigious indeed. Cristina is now 47 years old.

    AcPggyG.jpg

Back in the late 60’s Cristina’s son Hugo, just moved out from his mother and was living with his girl Noa García in a social apartment at Plateau Village. Today Hugo is 28 years old, married to Britta Leroy (33), they got a son Finn 5 years ago. The family is quite poor as Britta is still studying at Bounty City University. Hugo works as a line dancer in the Circus.

    Schubert Family Nov.1979

As mentioned, Frank Schubert (57) became chairman of the board at Shubert Holdings, after his father's death in 1970. Frank Schubert has a very conservative almost militaristic leader style. He is still married to Vera Schubert, a clever woman, many analysts believe she is the actual brain behind the company’s continued success. Their son Dirk Jr. Schubert was a flamboyant playboy, having a lot of different often very young girls around him. He died this month 35 years old, intoxicated with a mix of alcohol and various illegal substances. The only hair to the throne is gone.

Shubert Holdings owns: Schubert Cigar Factory, Schubert Processed Food, 35% of M. Leroy Firearms JV, 35% of M. Leroy Steel JV, 67,5% of South Industrial Harbor, 67.5% of S/L Shipping, two tobacco plantations and Shubert Pork Ranch.

    February 1980

The leader of Nationalist Action Alicja Schäfer, died in 1979, age 67. She was replaced by 40 years old Szymon Woźniak.

    The votes were counted:

The Workers Front with Tommaso Leone get 25,2 % and 9 seats in parliament.

    Compared to: opinion poll 1978 +0,4%, Election 1970 +0,3%

The Christian Democrats with Juan Pérez get 26,3% and 10 seats in parliament.

    Compared to: opinion poll 1978 +0,4%, Election 1970 +0,5%

The Right-Libertarians with Pedro Serrano get 25,4% and 9 seats in parliament.

    Compared to: opinion poll 1978 +0,3%, Election 1970 +0.0%

Nationalist Action with Szymon Woźniak get 23,1% and 9 seats in parliament.

    Compared to: opinion poll 1978 -1,4%, Election 1970 -0,8%

The direction in Bounty Politics have been unchanged since Juan Pérez took over power in 1960. The President and with him The Right-Libertarians growing stronger and stronger, while Nationalist Action are losing more and more voters. There was a brief optimism, at the extreme right, when the opinion poll came in 1978, but it did not show at the election day. Maybe more Nationalist Action supporters chose to stay at home, that those supporting other parties.

Juan Pérez continues his presidency with Pedro Serrano as foreign minister and Tommaso Leone as defense minister.

The family has been very lucky, with all three children surviving the important first years, Majed is now 10, Mikail 9 and Yasmin 7 years old. Martina works at Bounty Cigar's tobacco plantation in Cepero Town. Ibrahim at United Fruits Pineapple plantation in South District. They live in a fine new apartment, at “New Village”, a primarily working class residential area in Cepero Town, located where the original Cepero Village was back in the late 30’s.

    Mafalda & Andreas Wolf, Dec.1980

After more or less recovering from her depression Mafalda Wolf (54) and her husband Artist Andreas Wolf (56) are amongst the most celebrated intellectuel couples in Bounty City. Anyone in those circles who what to be somebody, will be seen hanging around their home. In a demonstratively old and cheap looking building next to Saint Mary’s church. When you get inside it’s a delightful museum, they bought the entire apartment block. Made famous by Andreas oil painting “Red Louvre” from 1977, now sold to Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires.

    Taka Family Jun.1981

We haven’t heard from him since 1971, back then he was living with his now deceased wife Montserrat in an apartment at Lucia Village. In 1979 Heinrich met his 2nd wife Alexandra Taka (27), they married and he adopted her two children Carlos (7) and Dea (5). The family lives in “New Village”, Cepero Town. November 1981

Back in 1911, Maria Ruiz, today an important historical figure, known as revolutionist and leader of what could be seen as a Distillery Worker Union. Initiated the distillery worker owned Maria Bird Rum Brand and Distillery. Today it is owned by United Industrial Worker. Due to falling profits from rum export, the union decided to rebuild it into a Jewelry Workshop. To honor Maria Ruiz the “brand” will be continued as Maria Bird Gold & Jewelry. The Maria Ruiz monument will of course remain untouched.

    1Nm3OrG.jpg

To keep a steady flow of foreign workers coming to Bounty Island the parliament have executed laws accepting almost unregulated immigration, as a consequence the labor market has been perfect for the businesses, but in recent years it has also led to a growing underclass of unemployed and homeless vagrants. Begging to survive and living in clusters of roughly built shack villages.

    HLCdVuo.jpg

The two “Hippie Villages”, Fungus Town at the plateau and Freaks Village further north, have joined forces and build a large saw to cut their lumber into planks. They know it not a perfect pollution free production, but as they say, it is better to make our own, than to import planks from somewhere in South America, with the risk of child labor, and uncontrolled deforestation of the jungle.

    Aurora Brissi July.1982

Special Agent Aurora Brissi is now 55 years old, no longer able to perform the dangerous missions she could before. Today she officially got office work at the headquarters, but actually she is basically retired, and just to a little coaching with new agents. Her lover through 35 years Stefano Fiore died in 1975, which was a hard blow, but Aurora is tough and got over it quite fast. When she is not traveling to meet her many friends amongst the native tribes, she spends time with Ancel Roux, a 43 years old playboy with a dubious reputation, most likely dealing and/or smuggling something. Aurora Brissi also likes to spend time in Fungus Town, with Ancel’s 20 years old daughter Beatriz, a girl she really likes a lot.

    Senna Clarke Feb.1983

Senna Clarke met David Clarke in the 50’s, got two children, and lived a good live first at Cepero Main Waterfront. Later moving into a nice house in Old Cepero Village in the 60’s. In 1972 she lost her youngest son Amir and in 1979 her husband David. On top of all that sadness, she was also pushed out of her job at Schubert Processed Food, due to the fact that the factory processes were restructured using new automated machinery, and she could not compete with the younger and faster workers overflowing the job market. Senna Clarke started working as a bus driver in 1981. Senna found love with German immigrant Thorsten (36) and moved into his apartment at Long Connector Street in Saint Mary’s District. Her son Brandon also lives in the city, nice enough to move closer to him, after all those years on Cepero Island. Senna is the daughter of Juan Gómez, she is now 65 years old.

Facts and figures, Mar. 1983 Part One, I: Maps North District

Plateau Village is the home of many low rent social apartments, making the village likely the least desirable area on Bounty Islands. Although the Army and Mines attract some residents coming to find good jobs here. Fungus Town and Stoned Planks attract some visitors, curious to see what the long-haired are up to. After the aerial photo was takes, a new bus-line opened to connect the village to the town center.

    7mDqFHw.jpg

Mountain Village haven’t grown much in resent years. Apart from a few residential buildings and the new hippie camp, Freaks Village. The Area is surrounded by mountains, dense jungle and the North Atlantic Ocean with limited possibilities of expansion.

In Saint Mary’s District, the changes over the last 20 years have happened in the area between Coconut Road and Pasture Road. And the “Yellow Hacienda” at South Coast Road. Schubert Holdings opened a pig ranch South East of Long Connector Street and The Community House was relocated from Saint Mary’s District. Facts and figures, Mar. 1983 Part One, III: Maps Cepero Island

Cepero Town has developed with many new residential buildings and a new radio station in New Village, as well as more housing in what is now referred to as Jungle Road Residential Area, or just Jungle Road.

    aAXuWsQ.jpg

Cepero Town Industrial Zone, is no longer part of Cepero Town administration, now being part of Bounty City Administration, as a district of its own. The Government has recently placed the State Statistics Department in the district. A Rescue center was built to protect the important factory production in the area, and Bay Cheese Ltd got a Goat Ranch next to the steel factory.

South District have seen some minor changes, a new sheep ranch right outside Lucia Village. One of the nickel mines was abandoned and a new iron mine started up to fuel the steel plant. A few new residential buildings were added to the village, attempting to get rid of the many shacks.

Facts and figures, Mar. 1983 Part Two, Economy

With the construction of the State Statistics Department in 1976, President Juan Pérez initiated a large survey of Bounty Islands Economy, running five years from 1978-1982. President Thomas Williams presented the results in front of the parliament:

Seen over the entire period we had a yearly surplus of 6,3%, which is not perfect but acceptable. The public sector is very expensive, wages alone eating up almost 20% of the gross revenue. Real Estate and production industry clearly the most important contributors to the surplus, but I soon hope to see some development in the tourist industry, we can see in the countries around us. My major concern about this survey is that from 1978-1980 we had a positive balance of 13% but from 1980-1982 it was just 2%, and that is why the government has decided to extend the survey with another 5-year period to follow the development.

Facts and figures, Mar. 1983 Part Four, UN Report.

Bounty Islands is a group of islands in the Caribbean Sea united under Bounty Nation. Only the two Islands at the Eastern side of the group is developed, on the other four islands lives only a few small groups of nomadic tribes. In general, the natives on the Islands are treated with respect, but their lands are threatened by the ethnic European population’s growth and expansion.

Nutrition: There is a very good production of varied food on the Islands and basically everybody gets good solid food and a daily basis. Nutrition is clearly above average.

Healthcare: There is a lack of doctors on the Islands, resulting in a general lack of treatments. Even the simplest illnesses often result in disability or even deaths. Many unnecessary deaths are seen amongst the children and other weak population groups.

Housing: The building mass are old and often lack electricity, toilet and even running water. There are also some shacks here and there. Compared to other Islands in the area it is not too bad, but could clearly need some replacements with more modern housing.

Employment: The Unemployment rate is reasonable, but many jobs are unskilled, resulting in a rather low living standard for the majority of the population.

Democratic Rights: Bounty Islands is a modern democracy. Very little corruption is seen on the Islands.

Law and Ordre: Crime is a minor but existing problem. Not too bad, not great either.

Religion and Culture: Religion on Bounty Islands is split between the Catholic Church and the local sect “Ordre of Fen”, there is some level of religious freedom, but could be improved. Lately it has been hard for many people to find a local priests and attend church and many people haven’t got a church belonging to the religion they believe in. Besides the lack of religious buildings, the level of cultural monuments and entertainment facilities are reasonable.

Adrián Ciccone & Norma Ciccone Aug.1983

Adrián Ciccone is the son of Greta Navarro. He grew up in the 30’s living with his mother after his farther died when he was very young. At age 5 his mother moved in with Sergio Navarro, at the time when Sergio was working on the Gaia monument. After Sergio died, they moved in with a German immigrant Peter Schäfer living with him in Mountain Village, North District. Adrián married but lost his first wife Margit in 1961. Adrián met Norma Ciccone and fell in love again. Sadly, they lost three children in a house fire in 1977. His son Anton and her children Álvaro and Susana. Only her son Javier Weber survived. Adrián Ciccone is still working at Ramos Construction. Norma quit her job at People's Market now working at Leone Family Banana plantation in Mountain Village. Due to her new job, they moved from Saint Mary’s district up to a smaller but fine apartment in the village.

    Sister Sullivan Mar.1984

In 1975 Sister Sullivan was elected new leader of the “Ordre of Fen” after the death of Sister Birgitta in 1974. She moved into Fenna Chapel with her three children. In 1978 she became a member of the Council of the Districts. In 1981 after all her children had moved out from Fenna Chapel, to start their own adult life, she chose to leave the chapel herself, passing on the daily leadership to Sister Verónica. Having focus only on the overall direction of the Order and her commitment to the Council. Also, the leadership of Alicja Chapel, she passed on to Sister Marije. Sister Sullivan is now 50 years old. Living alone in a house at South Coast Road, facing Ruben Ruiz Strait.
