Okay, I am using missing asset more in the CS sense, because I know SC4 has props, bats, lots ...  But I know if you see a box in your city this is not good.

Now, in CS the LOADING SCREEN MOD will list any missing assets and also log them.  Then, you can plug the list into the LOADING ORDER MOD, and it will attempt to auto-subscribe to the list from the Steam Workshop.  Assuming no one delisted their mod; missing assets numbering into the hundreds can be resolved in 15 minutes.

So, here we are in SC4.  I load a city a and see a box.  What do I do?

Thanks.

Well there isn’t a quick and even semi-automated solution because there is no central register of SC4 assets.

One thing is fairly certain though, it is a model you are missing, because to see a brown box something must reference a model, i.e. a buildings or prop exemplar.

Step one, simply work out what lot has the problem, usually querying it is sufficient. Step two, look at the documentation/download to double check the dependencies. If that fails, let us know the lot, ideally with a link to the download, someone will be able to assist you.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

If you take a look in the omnibus I uploaded a number of lists ... fairly out-of-date now as I haven't updated them in a few years, but still might be helpfully if you have a box

Here's the first one in the set
