How to work with Dependencies

I am ok with downloading extra buildings and such but I am not sure how to download ones with Dependencies. When I try to download one with a despondency it takes me to a different location and asks to me become a member or to open an account. What is that all about? Not sure what that entails. If I do that my next question is do all the dependencies go in to the plugins folder? Should the dependencies to a building and the building I am downloading go in their own folder within the plugins folder?

The other site is probably SimCity Devotion. Kind of a sister site. It behooves you to join, to access things that might not be available here. As for dependencies, you need them so you don't get the dreaded "brown boxes". I usually keep mine in the C; file plugins so they're always in game, but out of the way of the region plugins I'm playing at that particular moment. You'll get used to it.

You could, but I wouldn't, because eventually, you'll end up with a ton of duplicates. For instance, some like Simmer2 create lots with the same dependencies. If you have those in C:, you wont have to download them again. And if you add other file dupes, your computer usually kicks them out anyway if you use one folder.. Some use Cleanitol, but I just rely on my pc.

It gets to be a can of worms the more you download.    Starting off early, you can prep and have the folders organized.
