Are here other people who also created Space Programs for their cities in Kerbal Space Program?

Somehow I really like the idea of starting Space Programs for my own cities. For example giving myself a few rules, that a city needs to have a high-tech industry before I build rockets in KSP.

How to combine city-building and rocket-building to create a common narrative for your cities?

So, I first had to Google Kerbal Space Program to know what you were talking about.

I like the idea of combining elements of one game with another to fit the story line you have in mind. Those rules which you set for yourself could include a number of high tech jobs (or number of each type of building) and number of R$$$ Sims needed for research and development. Really, whatever you can dream up would work so long as it makes sense from your own perspective.

    My idea is not just to try to reach a certain population but rather to build various building complexes which enable then to start a space program.

    Setting just a certain population number encourages to build fast and not with smaller details in mind.

    A university, some science buildings, a high tech industry and some oil extraction seems to be necessary.
    Having a large airport in the city builder could be necessary before launching space shuttles into space.

     

    Maybe having two or three city save-games could result in a space race between them with each trying to land on the moon first.

    That sort of thing can be set up as a reward system in SC4.

    If you can find all the custom buildings (or the quantity of each type of Maxis buildings) you want to use, it would take some simple editing of a couple of properties in each building exemplar for the ones to be unlocked and then Advisor Triggers via Lua code to make them available as each stage of development is completed.
