Hey @SIM-ple Jack any maps would work weather it's real or fantasy but i was looking forward for make real maps

You can try playing with this tool- Landscape Designer

I never much cared for it, myself.

I have 2 threads for my maps-

They are really easy to use, simply load a folder into your regions folder and you're good to go. Good for practicing and the grayscale maps can be altered to your taste.

Hiya, @Pakistani890.

I noticed you reacted favorably to my CORIMAPS Tutorial (thanks!). That is a good place to start to get the overall feel of creating your own maps, but it will fall short of helping create maps of real places.

So do learn the basics from what I wrote, but you'll then want to look into creating maps from Digital Elevation Models (DEMs). We can dig up a couple of linkys to threads about that. There's one I remember being much easier than others so I'll check with our master linky finder, @Cyclone Boom to get that for you.

Here's the main thread:

While following along the tutorials, it might also help to check this post (in the same thread) which Cori quoted from a PM about the DEM mapping techniques.

Also Cori found this topic which might be insightful:

Conversation with map guru Drunkapple

This goes into complex details how to create rivers, lakes, and streams because they aren't all at the same height level, but game water is. It can get quite technical and advanced for DEM mapping methods, but there are certainly ways to make realistically scaled terrain in game.

Otherwise it might be worth trying Cori's ingenious cloud mapping method, or using a map generation tool like Jack suggested with the Landscape Designer tool.
