SimCity 3000 soundtrack MIDI files?

Is it true that there was once a MIDI arrangement of the SimCity 3000 soundtrack posted here? I remember looking for a MIDI version and finding one here. The download link apparently didn't work but I might be mistaken. That was around 2 years ago. I can't find any trace of it online except for a few arrangements of Sim Broadway. If anybody remembers this topic/has the actual files can you please let me know?

I would check on this thread:

But I remember that SC3000 had mp3 recorded music, not MIDI files as SC2000

So not midi, but SC3K used XM files which are similar in that they're tracker music, this was later converted into MP3's for the official soundtrack release.

basically tracker music is like midi music but it uses sound samples stored in the file rather than samples stored in a sound card or software synthesizer, both types of music were used in computing pre-2000 and were phased out in favor of MP3 and occasionally OGG files.

Are they really tracker music though? The Wikipedia page says it's a live music score. Indeed, when I try to import one of the soundtrack files into Audacity, well... it's quite a bit muffled, but I can still hear the basic arrangement and structure of the track. Also, the same format used for the music (.XA) is used for most of the sound effects as well. In my opinion the format is definitely live.

oh btw you mispelled XA as XM

@Bruh Man Surprisingly yeah, a lot of music in that era was tracker, it was a brief moment where it surpassed midi before MP3 became the main form of music.  I'll have to get my disc drive fixed so I can double check of course since I have SC3KU as a physical copy but I'm fairly certain it's tracker based with high quality sound samples.
