Help! Added NAM but remains stuck on city loading screen

I have Windows 10
steam
SimCity 4 deluxe
SimCity 4 launcher mod
colossus addon 2

I added NAM. The game loads, the region loads, I can click on a city, then it is stuck on the loading screen. I don't know which of all these is to blame.

It loaded okay before I added SimCity 4 launcher and NAM 40.

Did you read the Read First documentation for NAM before installing? Here it clearly states the requirement for the 4GB Patch in order to run the NAM, you should familiarise yourself with the details here, because depending on your PC and setup choices, things can be a little different.

A new .BAT file was included with the NAM 40 download, if you ran this rather than the .JAR installer file, it should have installed the 4GB Patch for you before the installer runs. Again the documentation explains in detail how to manually run this patch, rather than run the installer anew.

Without this patch being applied to your SimCity 4 game's executable (the application or .exe file), it won't have sufficient RAM to to run the full NAM mod. This typically results in the problem where the game eventually CTDs when trying to open a city tile. If you are not experiencing the CTDs, you may just need to be more patient, with the full NAM Controller, you can expect about 2-3 minutes wait to load the first city after starting the game. This is because the millions of lines of additional code need to be loaded into RAM. But when you open subsequent cities, the speed should be similar to normal again.

If you don't wish to patch the .exe for some reason, then NAM controller without RHW is probably for you. It doesn't need patches and can be run on systems with 4 gigs and lower. Beware that the controller doesn't include RHW so you can't use the RHW.
